Meditation in Motion Pilates and Yoga Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the dynamic, often fast-paced life of the Washington state resident, finding a true sanctuary for mind and body movement is a rare and valued discovery. Meditation in Motion Pilates and Yoga, located in Seattle’s welcoming Eastlake area, is not a traditional sprawling sports complex, but rather a specialized, boutique Pilates studio and holistic movement center. It represents the powerful shift toward personalized, mindful wellness, offering deep, transformative work that goes far beyond generic group exercise. This studio is a beacon for those who view movement as a healing art and seek a stronger connection with their body.
At the heart of Meditation in Motion is the founder, Dhyana Garcia, who is much more than a typical instructor. As a certified Pilates instructor, a passionate Vinyasa and Forrest Yoga teacher, and an Ayurvedic wellness counselor, Dhyana brings a profound and comprehensive expertise to every session. She also holds an M.F.A. in dance and choreography from the University of Washington, which infuses her teachings with a deep understanding of movement's role in health and expression. This unique blend of academic rigor, artistic grace, and holistic wellness defines the studio's philosophy: to help you feel centered, calm, beautifully balanced, and to recognize that your body is a work of art.
The teaching methodology, known as the Meditation in Motion method, focuses on customized guidance. As noted by loyal Seattle customers, Dhyana is a highly skilled, intuitive teacher who begins each private session with an intentional check-in, tailoring the entire class to the client's current needs. In a city where time is precious, local users appreciate that these focused sessions deliver tangible results, making clients stronger, more limber, and bringing a much-needed rejuvenation into their week. This is an environment built on wisdom, grace, and empowering movement.

Services Offered
The offerings at Meditation in Motion are structured around holistic mentorship and deep, personalized movement, moving beyond the typical drop-in class model. The primary focus is on tailored practices for strength, healing, and mindfulness, delivered by a highly credentialed specialist.
The specialized services available to the local community include:
- Private Sessions and Duet Lessons: Whether working one-on-one or with a loved one, these sessions dive into Pilates for strength, core, balance, and posture training, or Yoga to promote flexibility and restore the nervous system. Dhyana also integrates Butoh dance therapeutic movement to spark joy and freedom in expression.
- Monthly Movement Mentorships: The most popular offering, available for individuals or duos/trios, these packages bundle guaranteed weekly personalized lessons (4 or 8 per month) using all Pilates machines and yoga props, ensuring consistent commitment and real results. Mentorships often include bonus weekly recorded practices.
- Rise & Shine Online Morning Ritual Program: An accessible, affordable, online-based group offering designed to build focus, energy, and inspiration. This program includes three weekly 40-minute live online classes via Zoom, typically focusing on a rotation of Pilates (Weds), Yoga (Mon), and Meditation (Fri). This provides flexible wellness for those with busy schedules or those who live outside of Seattle proper.
- Holistic Movement Modalities: Services integrate Pilates strength and conditioning, Vinyasa and Forrest Yoga practices, Butoh-inspired therapeutic movement, and Ayurvedic wellness counseling principles to create a comprehensive path to health.
- Initial Consultation Session: Recommended for all first-time clients to thoroughly cover movement goals, current capacity, and to establish the optimal, tailored practice recommendations.

March 05 · Rachel TaylorDhyana is a highly skilled, deeply intuitive teacher with a twinkle in her eye. She begins each Meditation in Motion class with a check-in and my intention for the class. Then, she creates a class tailored to my needs. In 10 classes I'm stronger, more limber, and bringing a much needed rejuvenation into my week.
April 20 · Sarah BerryI am served very well by attending Dhyana's Rise and Shine program. It reminds me to get my day going - at 8.15am via zoom - by connecting with my physical body before coffee - although the latter is on the list too.Dhyana is guiding the attendees through the exercises with great attention to each - since each has their special limitations and strengths. She is a very competent and skilled trainer. I feel very energized after the 30 min session.
September 14 · Tomasz GilDiana is such special human - full of joy, depth, passion and knowledge. Every session I have had with her left me feeling wonderful. I always Learn something new about my body and how it moves and how to heal when with Diana. Highly recommend working with her!
August 22 · Robyn BjornsonDhyana introduced me to pilates today at her cozy and unique space in the U-District. She's such a positive and supportive presence and such a great teacher. I've often struggled in dance and yoga classes with understanding how to engage or isolate the muscles that the teacher is talking about. She makes it so clear! Today I learned several pilates movements and she was careful to demonstrate the correct form as well as how to breathe to make the work more effective. I felt so invigorated afterward, but I worked for it!
