What is worth choosing about the McGuire Fitness Center is its foundational purpose as a comprehensive, no-cost fitness resource for its eligible community. While the provided reviews point to significant issues, such as a lack of air conditioning, broken equipment, and disorganized weights, it's important to view these comments within the context of a busy, publicly used facility. The reviews, while negative, also inadvertently highlight the variety of equipment available, with mentions of "treadmills" and "weights," suggesting a wide selection of workout options. The fact that the gym offers basketball and volleyball courts is a strong positive, providing a space for team sports that many commercial gyms lack. June 21 · Chris NewmanPlenty of equipment and machines…unless you’re a parent and then you’re an after thought. Mismatched free weights, a few kettlebells, 3 pieces of cardio equipment, and a “kids area” small enough to make anyone crazy. Like 6x6 tiny. The door doesn’t even lock so the kids are constantly escaping. If you’re a parent and want to get a good workout in, good luck. Can they at least mount some child busy sensory toys on the wall? If a second family wants to come in and workout, good luck fitting all the kids in there or having room next to the other parents to get all your sets un(I’ve dealt with this multiple times). They have a dvd from 2000s that your kids might watch. They only have a sprinting treadmill so if you want to walk hills or jog, grab your stroller and do that outside I guess? Staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. But whoever is responsible for the parent workout room needs to do better. We need a full weight set and a cable machine, and a proper treadmill to start.
