★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After being a member of this gym for almost a full year (quitting a couple of months ago) and reflecting on everything. I felt like it was needed to type this review.Overalls about everything:The gym - it’s a decent sized space, I’ll give them that.Community/coaching staff/ownership - some of the community members were decent and were inclusive, while many of the other members did not make me feel welcomed at all. I felt like I could not be myself around the community - they cared so much about the “competitive” side of CrossFit that a majority forget that at the end of the day it does not matter. Everyone is there to work on themselves and have a supportive environment. I did not feel supportive by some of the community members, staff and owners.Coaching - coaching was definitely questionable. Most of the times the coaching was highly questionable and a majority of the members were instructing other members in movements. A lot of newer people that came into the gym weren’t hardly getting any help from the coaches. So, if you are brand new to CrossFit, this gym is not for you. While addressing my concerns with the owner about inclusivity and me being a queer male athlete who is on the competitive side of things (yes, I do recognize that I do not need special treatment or attention) as I’m in the gym like everyone else to work hard and support others and being respectful. The owner stated to me while having the conversation regarding inclusivity. Owner said, “you would feel more included if you were honest with rep counts and it’s not that you are part of the LGBTQ community. People would include you more in this community. We have watched you on the security cameras and have counted your reps and many coaches have came up to me and told me that you miscount reps.”Having a gymnastics background for 13+ years, CrossFit for 6 years etc. that was violating, rude and disrespectful to mention that I was being watched on security cameras; as I work extremely hard in the gym. Yes, I am human and forget reps or people have off days and that’s ok. Because at the end of the day your workout is YOUR workout. But to ridicule someone in that way, I have no words. Especially, when I always treated others with respect in that gym, and personally have always worked hard.I addressed the concerns with another owner of the gym and their response was, “it was a growth and learning opportunity”There have been times that owners have talked negatively about athletes at the gym.Overall, I have never felt more disrespected as an athlete than at this gym. Instead of being treated with professional and respect, I was watched on their security cameras and judged rather than supported. I came to this gym to improve myself and train, but the environment was unwelcoming and left me feeling extremely uncomfortable. A gym should empower its members, not make them feel monitored and scrutinized. I hope that one day their message and actions align with one another.
September 25 · Michael WilliamsIf you are looking for a gym family that encourages, pushes, and lifts you up, this is your place. There isn't a better gym community out there in my opinion, I have been a member in and off for 5 years, the coaches are phenomenal and knowledgeable and the programming is intentional for all fitness levels. Drop in and get your own MC experience 💪🏻
May 29 · Ariel SchroederAwesome gym. Time of world class equipment, never crowded and trainers are top notch!
May 07 · Daniel VenkatI have to talk about this gym.I am not a person with a ton of CrossFit experience. With that being said, I can't say enough about how welcoming the community at this gym is.I've dropped in a few times, and I immediately noticed that the class was filled with members at ALL skill levels. Any given class's members can range from TRUE beginner to a highly competitive athlete. Everyone is welcomed with fistbumps, encouragement, high-fives, and engaged/attentive coaching from whichever coach is leading the class. The coaching here is incredible. The coaching staff is attentive, detail-oriented, engaged, and they keep the energy high. This isn't the place where coaches give you a workout and start typing on their phone; far from it. I received enough cues and positive feedback during my workouts that I thought the coach was ONLY paying attention to me (and so did the guy next to me!).The music selection during the workouts is top tier (this is a personal favorite feature of mine at the gym).Lastly, the gym is incredibly clean, well-kept, and has plenty of storage space for your belongings. If you're looking to start CrossFit, looking to take your training to a new level, or just looking for an awesome community of people that are dedicated to making themselves better, look no further. You're home here.
March 01 · Khalil SaadiqBeen a member for over a year and this place is great. I did not have any CrossFit experience and was really stressed/intimidated walking in the first time. The coaches did a great job making me feel welcome and helping me find a scaled training plan that worked for me. They do a great job helping you find a workout plan that challenges you, but in a way that keeps you safe and lets you take on new skills as you're ready. The gyms has a full range of athletes from hardcore competitors to people just trying to tighten their butt.Would highly recommend you check MC Crossfit. Great gym culture and great coaches.
