May 10 · Anonymous UserGreat place for a wide variety of strength equipment. Never have trouble getting a rack.Hack squatLots of racksT bar rowDeadlift JackYoga bsSledGrip strength stuffWhat I love most about this place is the people there are smart af and know about evidence based training. It’s not just a bunch of high school athletes telling you to do more crunches2 to 3x’d (literally) all my lifts here
June 21 · George BeattyHonestly the BEST!First of all, great community—nobody ever talks down to me or is creepy. Women in gyms—YOU know—I feel safe here and that’s important.Secondly, and more importantly, Steve (the owner/my trainer) is SO GREAT! He has taught me so much! I started lifting here almost two years ago as a middle aged lady with chronic pain. I’m still a middle aged lady, but with significantly less pain! Steve has taught me to lift safely with proper alignment and I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. I can come in on weekends and lift without him because I hear all the cues he gives me in my head now. But that’s not going to stop me from continuing to lift with him twice a week for forever because there is always more to learn. Steve is super knowledgeable, seriously the best trainer I’ve ever worked with, but he’s also a silly goose, which is important too! He makes lifting fun!I could easily go to the gym across the street from my home, but I walk a bit further to go to MASS FIT and it is worth it. Seriously, it’s everything I could possibly want in a gym.
August 22 · LJ SteinigOne of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. I’ve never gone to a gym where I felt like the staff was interested or invested in me as a person and supported my goals. Steve, the owner, is an incredible guy and all of the trainers are super helpful and kind. The community in the gym is very welcoming, it truly feels like a second home. Not to mention it has amazing equipment. Steve makes it a point that his customers get the absolute best in equipment, support, and camaraderie.
March 02 · Mahdeen KhanBy far my favorite gym in Philly. I've been to 3-4 gyms during my time living in Philly—including the UPenn gym, Planet Fitness, and Sweat Fitness—and MASS Fit is the best. The reason is simple: it's the only gym that gets Philly's vibe and matches it. It's a small gym run by one dude (Steve) who clearly pours everything he has into it, it's gritty (in all the best ways), and it's got a great tight-knit community of people. I've worked out here solo, engaged in personal training here, and received physical therapy here. It's the best.
