What is worth choosing
Choosing a gym is a personal decision, and for many in Ohio, LifeWorks of Southwest General presents a compelling case. The most significant advantage is its comprehensive approach to wellness. It is more than just a place to work out; it's a facility that offers a holistic view of health, with services ranging from personal training and group classes to massage therapy and aquatic programs. This broad range of offerings means you don't have to go to multiple locations for different aspects of your fitness routine. The fact that it is a hospital-owned facility also provides a sense of professionalism and high standards, which can be reassuring for those seeking a safe and well-managed environment.
The variety of free classes included with membership, such as Zumba, yoga, and cycling, offers immense value and helps members stay engaged with their fitness goals. The inclusion of an aquatic center with a warm water pool is particularly beneficial for individuals with joint issues or those seeking a gentler form of exercise. Furthermore, the availability of online classes shows a commitment to providing flexible options for modern lifestyles, allowing members to stay active even when they can't make it to the gym. The amenities like the sauna, basketball court, and Wi-Fi enhance the overall experience, making it a place where people can relax and socialize in addition to exercising.
However, it's also worth considering the feedback from some members. Some have expressed disappointment with the cancellation of certain evening classes and issues with facility maintenance, such as a frequently broken elevator and hot tub. These concerns, while important to note, should be balanced against the many positive reviews that praise the friendly staff, clean facilities, and extensive equipment. The experience can be subjective, and a tour of the facility is highly recommended to see its current state and to inquire about class schedules that fit your specific needs. Ultimately, for residents in the Ohio region who are looking for a fitness center that combines a wide range of services with a professional, health-oriented atmosphere, LifeWorks of Southwest General is a strong contender, offering a valuable and comprehensive solution for your wellness journey.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was really disappointed to learn that Lifeworks canceled all the classes I attended as part of their new summer schedule and offers no aqua classes after 5:30 pm. As someone who works full-time, it feels like the schedule no longer supports members with busy jobs and families. On top of that, the facility itself is falling apart. The elevator is often broken, the steam room barely works, the hot tub is constantly out of order, and men have to walk through the gym to get to the pool—only to be scolded for getting the floor wet.We joined Lifeworks for flexibility and a quality facility, but both seem to be disappearing. If you rely on evening classes and expect a well-maintained space, you may want to consider other gyms.
July 11 · Sharon MeansI had a stroke and was referred to this place by a nurse. The first problem was my 1st appointment. I waited for 35 minutes pass my scheduled time. I was given 2 appointments. The 1st appointment was fair, but I asked about scheduling other sessions. I had an appointment on Friday the 26 of May. I called and wanted to reschedule due to mu mobility. When I tried to reschedule the appointment setter told me it would be July 18th. That would be 3 weeks
June 27 · ScottDave H is an absolute legend and one of my personal heroes. If you have been handed a diagnosis that is incompatible with your athletics and PT may offer relief, this man will show you how to fix yourself. You have to put in the work, but he took me from daily pain, to being able to compete and very likely postponed surgery that I have still in my future.
April 06 · walton simonsThis place is amazing and affordable. So many classes including Pilates for a reasonable price, sauna and steam room are a bonus with lots of group exercises and clean equipment
April 01 · wendy ormsbyOne of best gyms in the area, has all the equipment you need to straighten your body, lap pool, and warm water pool, sauna and more.Stop in and see for your self, you won't be sorry.
