★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update: they can't even be bothered to respond to negative or positive reviews, they clearly use an AI to write up replies to all of these.Original:I'm really unhappy with my experience at Lifetime. Half of my issue is with this facility specifically and the rest is with corporate.Lifetime is a luxury gym brand. I increased my monthly membership fee by 60 a month to go from the YMCA down the road to this lifetime with my partner. I actually lost amenities by switching to this gym (wet sauna, pool) but it's a shorter commute for me and those in my area. It really feels like this lifetime fitness is just taking advantage of the Apex community since there is no other major gym to compete in the Beaver Creek area. I guarantee once One Life opens they will try to be competitive with some promos and all but for now they aren't doing anything for member retention or joining benefits.Lifetime is a very sales driven gym. When you join you'll get a bunch of cold calls from personal trainers for your free introductory lesson. The intro personal training session is just a lengthy sales meeting. The whole goal is to get you paying weekly or monthly for extra sessions. This is so integrated into Lifetime fitness that you literally cannot use the apps fitness tracking features unless youre actively paying for personal training.Dynamic stretch was a similar experience, I also met an especially aggressive trainer person who called me and rescheduled my appointment with him to a time I said did not work for me, but he was extremely pushy and did so regardless of my protest so I just ended up canceling my personal stretch session completely later.Because this gym is so sales focused over half the staff is personal trainers and if they're not actively with a client they are basically hiding behind the desk hanging out. They do not walk floor and engage with the customer base (this is weird coming from the YMCA).The high focus on sales would make more sense at like... a planet fitness where the membership is literally 20 dollars, but here where its a hundred dollars per person it feels very bad.The facilities aren't cleaned well and frequently the men's locker room smells terrible. Recently they swapped the men's and women's locker room temporarily without having staff help guide the (mostly) older client base so I personally ran into multiple confused folks in the wrong locker room. Also the men's (women's) locker room had like 1 working shower for that week. Very premium. The equipment is nice. Nothing special, but unfortunately everything has that 80s brown esthetic so it looks older than it probably is.I was hoping to just cut ties with this place and move on since I was not having a good time but their corporate decided to ignore me. I asked to please let me end my membership early since I was so unhappy after less than 2 weeks, I didnt need a refund, but I didnt want to be charged for the next month. I was charged today, 100 bucks for just 17 days of gym (the remainder of my 31 days since i cancelled). I understand their policy but they aren't interested in talking to or working with unhappy customers, so instead I got no reply for over a week. I dont feel comfortable with (most of) the staff on site because they tend to hang out in little pods and really dont give the customers too much attention.
September 13 · Nik BlachVery bad management. I was member for 2 and half years. Paid as much as $550 a month but manager fought me over $50 credit that their employee already offered and owed to me. Even if i paused and cancelled my membership for couple times before i always came back. But not this times. Just very poor management business decision. It was not even about $50 it is about doing what is right not just trying to nickel and dime your customers over everything. Lifetime used to be good but dirty and outdated facilities charging arms and legs is not it
September 05 · bilgee mOverall, a good fitness center while understanding that many Lifetime's have a lot more amenities such as courts, food, salon, etc. The monthly membership price at this facility is high and might have some issues once another fitness center opens in Apex later this year. I will be checking both facilities out and price will be a factor.
July 08 · Eduardo Schoenafter doing lots of research online, I finally went in yesterday to get a membership. Talked to the lady at the front desk about starting one, and she went “The membership is $108 a month, are you okay with that?” while looking me up and down with a raised eyebrow. Now I’m a member of another gym.Amenities looks good and clean though!
June 09 · WenI’ve just started training at this gym, and the biggest drawback I’ve noticed so far is that the water from the drinking fountains is warm. Why isn’t it being cooled? Considering the relatively high membership cost, I would expect at least cold drinking water to be available.
