Knightdale Gymnastics Introduce
A Local Hub for Athletic Development: Knightdale Gymnastics
In North Carolina's Eastern Wake County, parents seeking specialized athletic training for their children often look for facilities that offer structure, skill development, and a dedicated environment. Knightdale Gymnastics, operating since 1995, stands as a long-established local institution providing year-round enrollment for children aged 12 months to 18 years. While its core identity is that of a specialized **Gymnastics Center**, it functions as a comprehensive youth sports complex, offering a variety of programs designed to build a lifelong love of athletics and fitness.
The goal of Knightdale Gymnastics is to encourage children to be adventurous and brave while instilling proper techniques and foundational gymnastics skills. The facility provides a space where children can run, jump, swing, and climb—an environment vital for the physical and mental development of youth in the North Carolina community. The programs are structured by age and level, ensuring that every participant is challenged appropriately, whether they are in a Preschool Class learning basic movement or an Intermediate Class working on complex routines.
However, potential users in the local North Carolina area should note that, like any highly trafficked public facility, experiences can vary. While the facility offers a broad curriculum and a large space—features that attract many families—customer feedback has raised significant concerns about the facility's cleanliness, the maintenance of the restrooms, and the level of supervision and training among the staff, particularly during non-class times like Open Gym. Specifically, reviews highlight issues with trash/debris in the main area and unsanitary conditions in the bathrooms, posing potential safety risks. Furthermore, there have been serious allegations regarding staff handling of incidents, lack of immediate parental notification in cases of injury or conflict, and perceived bias in disciplinary actions. These points of feedback underscore the importance of visiting the facility and speaking directly with management to address specific concerns about safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and staff-to-child ratios before committing to a program.
The facility's large 13,000 square foot space, which includes an above-ground foam pit and specialized equipment, offers immense potential for skill-building, but the safety and quality of the experience are heavily dependent on operational rigor.

What is Worth Choosing: Balancing Potential and Practicality
Knightdale Gymnastics has the **potential to be an excellent, skill-focused choice** for North Carolina families due to its large, specialized facility and its comprehensive, age-appropriate class structure. The long-standing presence in the community, the clear curriculum for boys and girls, and the flexible offerings like Private Lessons and Summer Camps all point to a professional, dedicated training center. The existence of a Tuition Assistance Program is a strong indication of a positive community-first mindset.
However, the critical feedback regarding **safety, cleanliness, and staff supervision/training**—particularly concerning incidents of physical conflict and inadequate facility maintenance—requires cautious consideration from local parents. While the facility's physical features are strong, the operational execution appears to be inconsistent.
Therefore, for North Carolina parents, this facility is worth choosing *only* if they are prepared to **actively monitor the cleanliness of the space and the supervision during their child's attendance**, especially during less-structured times like Open Gym. The best approach for interested families is to utilize the accessible communication channels, visit the facility in person to assess current conditions (particularly the restrooms), and directly discuss staff training, safety protocols, and adult-to-child ratios with the management before finalizing enrollment. If the operational and safety concerns can be confidently addressed, the robust programming makes Knightdale Gymnastics a strong local option for specialized youth athletic development.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I really wanted to love this place because my son enjoys playing here, especially with the hot weather lately. But unfortunately, it’s just not safe. The facility is extremely dirty — there were open bags of food on the ground, crumbs everywhere, and I even found a loose Diet Coke can on the floor. This is a hazard — a child could easily step on it and get hurt. The bathrooms were also in terrible condition and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. It’s really disappointing because the potential is there, but the lack of cleanliness and safety makes it hard to justify coming back.
June 23 · nikolpizaIf I could give this facility a 0 star I would. I'm not one to bring race into situations but if you're African American please DO NOT take your child to this location, they do not care about our children's safety. My daughter went to this location from March of this year until recently and on some weekends I would take her and my son to their open gym. This past Friday 11/08 they went and was hit by a 6 year old little girl as well as 2 of their friends who attended. I attempted to brush that situation off and not make a big deal about it. The following day which was Saturday 11/09 they went to open gym again with another friend and was attacked by this same little girl. Although she's only 6 she managed to slap my son who is 11 in his face and broke his glasses. Usually I wouldn't allow my son to have his cell phone while there but that day I allowed him to keep it which I'm thankful because not 1 person manager or staff member called me to inform me my son had been hit and his glasses broken. I received a call from my son whom I talked to for 20 minutes before returning to the facility. During that 20 minutes again not 1 phone call from anyone at the gym. Naturally I was very upset and demanded for the little girls parents to be contacted immediately. No they hadn't even attempted to call her parents either. They allowed her to continue to play as if she didn't just hit my son and break his glasses. They actually called the police on me and tried to paint a false narrative as if I threatened the parent and staff. They also lied and claimed my son pushed this child after the little girl herself told her mother while I was standing there w/ the staff and the police that she hit my son because he told her to shut up. The mother offered to pay for the damages but have since not been responding to my messages and the facility sent me an email the same day stating they're unenrolling my daughter from their program (ironic because she wasn't going back anyway). There were no adults at this facility when this happened, only teenagers who are obviously untrained and not skilled. The ratio of adult to child was surely in violation also considering when I returned there were only 3 staff members attempting to supervise a gym full of 25 or more children. Please DO NOT take your child to this facility if you care about their safety! This doesn't even include another situation I had where my daughter was upset because some of her teammates were talking about who they voted for, and asking other team members who they voted for, then saying "they can't be friends with anyone who voted for the other party". Since when so we allow children to discuss politics. Be mindful when choosing to attend this facility.
November 12 · Crystal MannGreat coaches and staff, and the trampolines are very bouncy :)
April 21 · Dawnna FloresDo not bring your child here! The owner and staff are amateur and catty. They care more about gossip than training your child. Parents are not allowed inside the building. However, the couple of times I did go inside the facility was very dirty! I even had to wipe the bathroom down in order for my daughter to use it. If that isn't bad enough, I received an aggressive email from the owner filled with lies and gossip. The owner, Chris, and Team Director, Erica told me (a paying parent) I am not allowed in the facility nor am I allowed to ask them questions. I was told if I ask questions that means ”I do not trust them.” This facility/gym is very disappointing and I will not recommend it to anyone.
September 04 · S WilsonMy daughter has taken classes at Knightdale Gymnastics for the past 4 years. She has participated in classes, track out camps, team and we have attended and hosted birthday parties here. We have been happy with all the staff and my daughter loves going.
