★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I can only speak to the toddler classes at this location. The only positive is that my toddlers enjoyed their classes. The facilities are huge however very run down, it always smells musty. As a parent, the viewing spaces leave much to be desired. In the main gym, everyone is crammed in a ventless room, and you can't see your kid most of the time. The back gym is equally as bad, with curtains blocking the area where my toddlers spent most of the time in that gym. The classes are packed and that always makes for a chaotic experience on the way in and out of the facility, especially on Saturdays. There are also some gymnastics parents that camp out in the viewing spaces and take off their shoes, bring coolers with dinner, take up multiple seats with their stuff... it's really inconsiderate towards everyone else, but that's not the gym's fault, just another data point. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was one day my 3-year-old left her group and snuck out from the back gym into the viewing area. I didn't see it happen because as I mentioned, you can't see your kid most of the time from the viewing space. Luckily I saw her jet to the exit and was able to catch her. When I spoke to the owner the following week, not only did she barely give me the time of day, she also blamed the lack of instructors that day on the incident, not offering an apology or making me feel that my kid would be safe there, that she would look into making the space safer for little kids. The teacher was apologetic, said she saw my kid leave but couldn't leave the rest of the class unattended in order to get her, which is disconcerting.I pulled both my kids from this gym and they now go to a Y program for gymnastics that is half the price, in a new gym, and I get to enjoy watching my kids during the entire class. The viewing space is lovely and my kids are just as happy.
November 13 · Bianca GibertiI can't recommend KMC's Trampoline team enough. The coaches are knowledgeable, experienced, and clearly have the best interests of the athletes in mind. The teammates are encouraging and supportive. Training is challenging and focused without compromising the pure enjoyment of the sport, so athletes will gain strength, coordination, and discipline while still having a great time. The trampoline team is co-ed and a great option for kids who started gymnastics too late to be considered for a "regular" (artistic) gymnastics team. Most of our kids started between ages 10 and 13, and we've had people find success joining as late as 16-17. I started just before I turned twelve and have been doing this for nearly six years now. This is my second year as a level 10 and third year year as a coach for levels 3-7.Competitions are fun, exciting, and a great opportunity to bond with teammates and meet athletes from other gyms. The trampoline team is a great place to grow as an athlete and learn the value of hard work and perseverance. It provides a safe and friendly environment for kids to learn and advance their skills and put excess energy towards something productive. Joining the trampoline team is probably the best decision I ever made.I say these things not as a coach who wants to advertise, but as someone who has spent some of the best moments of her life in this gym, experiencing incredible highs and lows with her teammates. Our arms are always open to new members, so don't be shy! You can come in and practice with us for a night without making any sort of commitment or payment-- decide after your first practice whether it is something that you would like to commit to!
March 30 · Kiara KlossWe held our daughter's 6th birthday here. Awesome time for the kids with KMC providing 2 gymnastics coaches for the party where the girls did tumbling, parachutes and trampolines. Nice set up for the parents too. Highly recommended!!!
December 29 · Andrew McCallI had the misfortune of attending a boys gymnastics competition here. The facilities and meet execution were both disappointing, to say the least. I heard several of the boys (from multiple teams) complain that "the floor" for the floor exercise was "too hard" or "not bouncy enough." They hid the mushroom behind a giant pad, making it impossible to see that event from most of the bleachers. The lobby smelled musty. The bathroom was dirty. I'm not talking about the kind of dirty caused by being overused for a weekend competition (though that was the case), I'm talking about the dank and dingy filth left from years of poor housecleaning. The woman who was MC'ing (she appeared to either be the owner or manager) sure liked to hear herself talk when pulling names for the (what seemed like) 72 raffles, but when it came time for awards, she was almost flippant when announcing the events. Also, it was so stinking hot in the gym that I heard multiple people complain it was making them feel ill. I don't understand why they didn't open some of the doors to let cool air in.The one thing they got right was poorly excited. Instead of giving the gymnasts yet another t-shirt, they gave out shorts. Nice idea. Unfortunately they gave the kids, adult sized shorts. It will be 3 - 4 years before my son fits in those shorts. By then, this meet will be a distant memory.OK, one more thing they got right. They played an absolutely beautiful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner at the beginning of the competition. We will, of course, go to whatever meets our gym selects in future years. I just hope that they don't pick KMC again.
