★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love this yoga center so much, and would recommend their classes to anyone that has felt disheartened or disappointed with some more mainstream "flow"/ vinyasa, ( or other!) yoga classes .I discovered iyengar yoga more than a decade ago, and felt very taken with the high-level of detail, instruction, and specificity of the movements. It engages me on a physical and mental level, and as a person with a lot of injuries, I feel very supported and protected from further injuring myself. The instructors have such a high-level of training, and are so accommodating with props and supports. The studio is so beautiful, and the teachers (Rebecca and Cara, etc.) are so attentive. I would highly recommend a class here if you're looking for a class that where you can get more attention and are seeking more specific Instruction .
July 07 · Emily VelushI've had a very good experience here, have been coming for a bit more than a year and can attest to the high quality of the teachers (years of rigorous training and experience) and the classes (the instructor pays attention to each person and I feel safe and receive very regular and valuable feedback about how I am doing things and how they relate to my body). Feel very grateful. I now have a daily practice, go to class about once a week and learn details on the poses and slowly go deeper into the practice, the new understanding I then bring to my home practice. It works very well for me and I feel great!!
November 17 · ramiro barrantesI decided to give Iyengar yoga a try after developing shoulder injuries that were limiting my ability to do the things I love to do. Clearly there are lots of studios in the Burlington area, and it can be hard to know how one differs from another. I've tried "hot" yoga, and physical therapy but nothing else has been as helpful as the classes offered here at the Iyengar Center of VT.The classes have a slightly different format from others I've tried. There is plenty of opportunity to observe the correct way to do the poses followed by the chance to practice them. Rebecca takes the time to answer questions and offer suggestions for those who may need to modify the poses in some way. She is a skilled and patient teacher and I look forward to attending classes a few times a week.
June 09 · Nancy AbernatheyIyengar Yoga Center of Vermont is my yoga home in Burlington's North End. The director and main teacher at the center, Rebecca Weisman, is a deep well of yoga knowledge. Students at the center range from absolute beginners of all ages (and all fitness levels) to seasoned teachers and teachers in training. Everyone gets taken into the postures with compassion and mindfulness. The practice is rigorous, challenging, joyful and illuminating. If you are new to Iyengar Yoga, this is a wonderful place to begin.
June 16 · Joanna ColwellI have had the privilege of both private 1-on-1 instruction as well as group classes through IYCVT with Rebecca Weisman (director). Rebecca brings incredible passion, creativity and depth in her approach to guiding her students, helping to foster a sense of deep understanding and alignment in body, mind and spirit.
