What is worth choosing
For those in the Massachusetts area who are looking for a fitness center that prioritizes a personalized approach and a strong sense of community, Human Movement Lab is an unparalleled choice. The reviews from real customers highlight exactly what makes this place special. One review states, "The Lab is my favorite place for group classes and personal training. Kim has created a workout community that is authentic, inclusive, nurturing, and fun." This is a powerful endorsement, as it speaks to the emotional and social benefits of training here, which are just as important as the physical results. The workouts are described as "varied and challenging while being accessible for all ages, sizes, and abilities," which is a rare feat for any fitness facility.
The highly personalized nature of the training is another key factor. A customer noted that Kim created a program that worked for both them and their wife, despite their "wildly different fitness preferences and goals." This level of customization shows a deep commitment to meeting individual needs, a quality often missing in larger gyms. The emphasis on seeking feedback from the community to improve programming and scheduling demonstrates a truly client-focused approach. The existence of a dedicated rehearsal space for professional artists further highlights the unique, community-oriented mission of the Lab, blending physical wellness with creative expression.

June 06 · Kevin LabatoThe Lab is my favorite place for group classes and personal training. Kim has created a workout community that is authentic, inclusive, nurturing, and fun. She is also just an enjoyable human to spend an hour with. The workouts are varied and challenging while being accessible for all ages, sizes, and abilities. In personal training, Kim has created a program that works for both me and my wife, even though we have wildly different fitness preferences and goals. Kim seeks out feedback to make sure that the lab programming, scheduling, and equipment continue to meet the needs of the community. All instructors are qualified and committed to the inclusive mission–Amy’s Rise and Grind is a great way to start the workday.
September 28 · Julie EvansMovement, fitness, health, community and care are things that enrich my life. Being a mindful movement teacher, I look for others in the world that I respect and can learn from - that create spaces that I want to learn in. Kim has definitely created that! I love what she has built - a small gym, with group classes (and private training) that are fun, diverse, thoughtful and inclusive. Kim makes workouts challenging, but is never pushy and always has the best attitude. Thanks for being such a superstar Kim.
September 18 · Andrea FotopoulosI first met Kim when she was my son's boxing coach. I was so excited when she opened the Human Movement Lab in Hyde Park. Kim is excellent—knowledgeable, attentive, fun, and truly invested in helping you reach your goals. The gym itself is spacious and well-equipped, creating a great atmosphere for workouts. The classes are not only fun but also challenging, and they cater to a range of fitness levels. What I really appreciate is how personalized the sessions are—everything is tailored to meet your specific needs and fitness goals. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, you'll feel supported and motivated here. I’ve had a fantastic experience at the Human Movement Lab! Highly recommend!
September 13 · Heather GarciaI started taking classes at HML last fall and I can't recommend it enough! Kim creates such a welcoming and inclusive environment. As someone in a larger body, I've often felt out of place in fitness spaces, but here I feel empowered and motivated. Kim’s support and encouragement makes all the difference. If you're looking for a gym where you can truly be yourself and thrive, sign up for a class!!
