HAUM Studios - Mission Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For California residents, the pursuit of wellness often leads to finding a space that is more than just a place to exercise—it must be a sanctuary. **HAUM Studios - Mission** is exactly that, offering a vibrant, welcoming, and high-quality yoga experience right in the cultural heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. The studio’s name, HAUM, is inspired by the sentiment of "coming home," and this feeling is consistently echoed by its patrons, who describe the studio as a "HAUM away from home" and a "fantastic experience."
HAUM Studios is built on a foundation of deep community and inclusivity. The studio is proudly **LGBTQ+ owned and operated**, and its mission is to create a safe space where every individual, regardless of their background or experience level, feels embraced and supported. This commitment to a nurturing environment is a key reason the studio maintains an exceptionally high reputation among local users. The physical space itself is a major highlight: situated on the **5th Floor**, it is celebrated for being "gorgeous," "bright," and "plant filled," benefiting from an abundance of natural light that creates a peaceful atmosphere high above the city bustle. This is a place where you can genuinely find "the perfect blend of hard work, stretching and quiet meditation," whether you are a seasoned yogi or someone who "had never tried yoga before" and felt instantly "welcomed and supported."
The core of HAUM's offering is a diverse and intelligently structured class schedule. While their **Vinyasa Flow** classes are dynamic and immensely popular, the studio places a strong emphasis on foundational practices like **Hatha Yoga**, which is ideal for beginners and those seeking a slower, more alignment-focused practice. Instructors, like Nicole, are consistently noted as being "welcoming, kind, and skilled," ensuring that every student receives mindful, supportive guidance. HAUM Studios - Mission is more than a yoga studio; it is a community pillar committed to supporting local well-being and practicing conscious business, regularly supporting local initiatives like The Mission Neighborhood Resource Center, cementing its place as a truly authentic San Francisco institution.
Location and Accessibility
One of the most appealing features for Bay Area locals is the studio’s prime, transit-friendly location at **2973 16th St 5th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA**. In a city where traffic and parking can be a headache, HAUM Studios is strategically located to serve the community efficiently. The studio is positioned for ultimate convenience, sitting right next to the **16th Street & Mission BART station**, making it a highly accessible destination for daily practitioners commuting from across the city and surrounding areas. It is also easily reached via **MUNI lines 14 and 22**.
While locating the entrance can be a moment of urban intrigue—as one review noted, the street entrance has "minimal signage"—the clear flow of patrons with yoga mats makes the location apparent. Furthermore, the instructions provided by the studio for getting up to the 5th floor are appreciated for being "helpful, and a little funny." For those who opt to drive, street parking is limited and metered, but convenient alternatives exist, including a paid lot a few blocks away at 16th and Hoff. Critically, in line with its inclusive ethos, the facility ensures physical accessibility with a **Wheelchair Accessible Restroom**, a vital feature that makes the studio truly welcoming to everyone. To ensure a tranquil experience for all attendees, the studio advises that **Appointments are recommended** for group classes.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was traveling for a work trip and discovered HAUM in the neighborhood I was staying and what a gift it was to myself. Nicole was a welcoming, kind, and skilled yoga instructor and the studio was gorgeous. It was bright, plant filled, and so clean and good smelling. The instructions on how to get in to the 5th floor were very helpful, and a little funny which I appreciated very much. Nicole's Vinyasa class was the perfect blend of hard work, stretching and quiet meditation. I won't hesitate to seek out a HAUM studio on my next trip to SF. Thank you for being my HAUM away from home. :)
July 24 · Kate GlassonHAUM Studios has been a fantastic experience. I had never tried yoga before, and I felt welcomed and supported. The space itself is great. It is situated on the top floor and filled with natural light. The street entrance has minimal signage I wondered if it was the correct location, but all the people coming and going with yoga mats made it pretty clear. All in all a great experience and highly recommend this studio!
August 27 · Matthew De MottI attended my first Flow & Restore Livestream class transmitted from HAUM's Mission Studio and it was the perfect balance of active and restorative yoga. The instructor was funny and inviting and the class left me feeling overall nicely stretched and fully relaxed. I especially appreciated the focus on hips.
September 24 · Shelley BullOur instructor (Nicole) was great and she is clearly so strong. The class was the perfect of challenging and reflective. The studio is gorgeous with a beautiful view and vibe. I'd come here again.
September 24 · eunI took one of the vinyasa flow classes and it was really great! The instructor was very clear with her instructions and I felt more in tune with my body afterwards. Not to mention, the studio is very beautiful, with natural sunlight and wooden floors. It does require climbing up to the fifth floor though, so watch out for that!
