★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been a member of Functional Lifestyles for over 2.5 years, and I love how the group classes keep strength training fun and safe. The workouts are intentional and challenging, while also welcoming to wherever you are in your fitness journey. Their 1:1 coaching support keeps me accountable, and over the years, I’ve made some incredible friendships and become part of an authentic community.I really appreciate the team Corey has built. The coaches are absolutely amazing - supportive, knowledgeable, and truly invested in each member's progress. It also means a lot that I’m able to support a local business that genuinely cares about its people, members and staff alike. It’s exciting to see FL move into this new location in downtown Palo Alto: easy parking, a great layout, and close to other businesses, which makes it super convenient. Looking forward to more PRs with Functional Lifestyles!
September 24 · Cleone AbramsAfter moving to NorCal, I was on the hunt for a gym that wasn’t just another crowded space with random workouts—and I finally found it at Functional Lifestyles Palo Alto. From day one, I felt at home. Francisco did my assessment and set the tone with a thoughtful, personalized approach. Corey, the owner, is so down-to-earth and even jumps in on classes. I’ve also trained with Jamie, Billy, and Damian, and every single coach brings both expertise and energy. They actually watch your form, coach you through adjustments, and push you in the right ways. What sets FL apart is their model: semi-private sessions (10 clients, 2 coaches), which means you get personalized attention without losing the motivation of a group atmosphere. The programming is smart—focused on movement quality, strength, and conditioning that translate into real-life performance. As someone training for Hyrox, this has been a game changer. The community here is just as strong as the workouts. People cheer each other on, and it truly feels like a team environment. Palo Alto, you’re lucky to have this spot—I can’t recommend it enough.
September 18 · Denise VoLove this gym! Great coaches, friendly atmosphere. I've been to other gyms where the coaches yell or focus too much on going fastest or going heaviest -- here the coaches really get to know individuals, spend time checking in about any injuries or modifications need, and push you in the "right" way so you can build strength without getting hurt. I'm stronger and feel better generally since I started coming to Functional Lifestyles. Highly recommend!
September 19 · Sara Jablon MokedI’ve been coming here for 20 months and it’s been life-changing. I’m the fittest I’ve ever been and have made great new friends along the way. Classes are small (about 10 people) with 2 attentive coaches who always give helpful feedback on form. If I’m dealing with an injury, they immediately offer safe alternatives so I can still train effectively. I also love that my well-behaved goldendoodle is welcome—he enjoys coming to class as much as I do! This gym truly feels like a community.
September 18 · Stephen LammI've been working out at FL for over three years. The coaches are knowledgeable, caring & inspiring. Big focus on correct movements, safely recovering from injury & not getting hurt in the first place. And I love the sense of community that I've been able to build with my rest of the 8am crew.
