★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This review is based solely on my personal training sessions with Nick! Nick is absolutely the best personal trainer I've ever worked with. I loved his optimism and encouragement, always knowing exactly when you need it, and I appreciated how closely he listened to my goals and tailored my workouts for me. Most of all, I loved that his explanations are always so in-depth and rooted in science.
September 18 · Patricia AuI have been a member of Flow for a few years. Flow has been a big part of my wellness journey. However, over the last few months, I've not been at the gym much. The evening and weekend classes have dwindled. The classes that I have attended don't have the same energy as they used to. There used to be some great instructors that were so motivating. They made exercise fun. Now, a lot of the new instructors lack energy and the classes are unmotivating.I can see the difference. For example, an amazing Barre instructor that left Flow always had a full class on Sunday. Often there was a waiting list. Now, on Sunday's the class is typically not even half full. The new fees are so outrageous. I get it about no shows and members not cancelling. However, $30 is a bit steep. There are times when last minute things come up that are urgent and you need to cancel within the 12 hours. Getting charged $30 is punitive. This exorbitant charge makes me not even want to sign up for classes. It makes me sad because I loved Flow and the gym made me enjoy exercising. Now, I've lost the motivation.
September 07 · Tamar HirschSince the ownership change, the gym's customer service has gone down. The cancellation policies have been changed multiple times without any notification sent or available on the website/app.One could be added from the waiting list to the class minutes before the class starts and get charged $25(before taxes) for not showing up.While the prices have increased, the quality of those hasn't changed in the past 8 years. Those breach customer trust and respect for customers' time and busy schedule. As a response to the Flow's response below: the fee was actually never waived. Also - there is absolutely no communication around the change of terms in contrary to what the gym claims. There were no notifications being sent to either me or the 3 other members I checked with.
September 25 · Diana TchalakovaI have been going to Flow Fitness for over seven years or something like that! The staff is friendly, the equipment is alright but some of it is old. The dumbbells go up to 100 lbs. Bathrooms are pretty clean, but I do wish there was more privacy in the men's restroom stalls. The classes are fun, and the instructors are very friendly and engaging. My favorite were the Yoga Classes, I attended over 100 of them.My feedback on the equipment: some of the barbells were a bit slippery and lacked grip. The machine row's closer grip lacks the rubber. It can get really crowded after 5PM, so I always scheduled my workouts to be in the morning or before 4PM. If you come in at 5-7PM, you will find no available equipment.I recently decided to cancel my Flow membership because I wanted a change in environment. I hope to enjoy my last couple months there, as I have a lot of memories at Flow and made so many PRs and gains here. :)I noticed some members talking about the signups and class changes. The charge for missing class is $25, which seems high, I think there should be a penalty for missing class, but life happens and 25 dollars is a lot. Hopefully, Flow reconsiders their policies and finds some happy medium so that it works out with the members and staff.
August 31 · Kalon CUpdating my review from 4 years ago:Zero Stars.Flow was a great gym and recently got bough out by a tech bro. They have a 12 hour late cancellation policy of $5 totally reasonable. Next week the cancellation policy is going to $15 for 12 hours or less and $25 for 2 hours or less. I am so very truly disappointed. I have been a member since they opened. I saw them as a community oriented and community geared gym. Which offered free memberships during the pandemic to unemployed people. Now I just see them as another scammy money hungry company. The vibe is gone, stay away!Flow is an all around great gym with wonderful classes and a strong sense of community. The employees are all really nice and the management is really responsive and will work with you when you have membership questions, or if you need to pause or cancel. They are respectful and generous
