Family Tree Yoga & Wellness specializes in a range of services designed to support families through the significant life stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood. The offerings are tailored to provide physical and emotional benefits for both parents and children.
Prenatal Yoga: These classes are specifically designed for expecting mothers at all stages of their pregnancy. They combine yoga postures, breath work, and relaxation techniques to help release tension, alleviate common pregnancy discomforts, and prepare the body and mind for labor and delivery. The classes also offer a chance to connect with other pregnant women, creating a strong support network.
Mommy & Me Yoga: This is a wonderful opportunity for new mothers and their infants to practice yoga together. These classes help mothers restore and rejuvenate their bodies through stretching and strengthening poses, while babies benefit from gentle movements that aid in digestion, sleep, and motor development. It's a key way to bond and meet other new parents.
Baby & Me: Similar to the yoga classes, these sessions are designed for parents and their infants. They incorporate a variety of activities including movement, songs, and sensory play that are stimulating for the babies and provide a crucial social connection for the parents.
Baby Massage & Infant Massage: These services are a key part of the wellness offerings, teaching parents the art of nurturing touch. Baby massage has numerous benefits, including improved sleep, better digestion, and enhanced bonding between parent and child.
Pregnancy Classes: Beyond yoga, the studio offers a variety of pregnancy-related classes that provide education and support. These may include workshops on labor and birth preparation, which equip parents with the knowledge and tools they need for a positive birth experience.
Online Classes: In addition to onsite services, Family Tree Yoga & Wellness offers the convenience of Online classes. This option allows parents who may not be able to attend in person to still access the high-quality instruction and community support from the comfort of their own home.
Family Tree Yoga & Wellness is more than a studio; it is a purpose-driven community. Its most notable features and highlights are what truly make it an essential resource for families in Connecticut.
Women-Owned Business: The studio proudly identifies as a women-owned business. This identity is reflected in its deep understanding and support for the unique needs of women during pregnancy and postpartum. The founder, Kimberly, is a beacon of this mission, creating a space where women feel understood and empowered.
Community and Support: The greatest highlight of Family Tree Yoga is the genuine community it fosters. The classes are a place for parents to connect, share their stories, and find a support system. As one reviewer said, it's "a great community of women going through the same things" and it "enhances your pregnancy/postpartum supports." This aspect is crucial for mental and emotional well-being during this life stage.
Expert and Welcoming Staff: The instructors, led by Kimberly, are not only knowledgeable about yoga and wellness but are also warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about their work. In a sea of fitness options in Connecticut, Family Tree Yoga & Wellness stands out as an essential resource for expecting parents and new families. The primary reason it is worth choosing is its hyper-specialized focus. While many yoga studios may offer one or two prenatal classes, Family Tree Yoga & Wellness is built from the ground up to support the entire perinatal journey. This specialization means the instructors and staff possess a deeper level of knowledge and empathy for the unique physical and emotional challenges that come with pregnancy and postpartum. The classes are not just a generic workout; they are a thoughtfully crafted experience that addresses the specific needs of a changing body and mind.
The community aspect is another powerful reason to choose this studio. One of the most challenging parts of new parenthood is often the isolation. Family Tree Yoga & Wellness directly addresses this by creating a space where parents can meet and share their journey with others who are in the same stage of life. This social connection is as vital as the physical benefits of the yoga itself. The testimonials from members who found a "godsend" community and made "parental leave so much better" speak volumes about the transformative power of this support network. It's a place where you can find a village, not just a class.
Furthermore, the fact that the studio is women-owned and led by a dedicated professional like Kimberly gives it a unique authenticity. Her genuine passion for supporting families creates an environment that feels less like a business and more like a safe, nurturing home away from home. The convenience of services like mommy and me classes, which allow you to bring your baby along, removes a major barrier to self-care for new parents. By choosing Family Tree Yoga & Wellness, you are not only investing in your physical health but also in your mental well-being and in building a support system that will carry you through one of life's most beautiful and demanding seasons.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am so grateful for Family Tree Yoga. Kimberly is the best. She is always super welcoming to new people, she genuinely loves children, and does a great job fostering community among the parents. We do the baby & me yoga class and the sensory sing and play class, and they have been so great for me and my infant son. They get us out of the house, I get social connection with other parents, and he gets to meet other babies and parents. The movement, songs, and crafts are also great stimulation for him. Truly a godsend and has made my parental leave so much better. Thank you!
July 04 · Dan PiankiThere are so many amazing things to share about Kimberly and Family Tree Yoga. FTY Has been a huge part of both of my pregnancies and postpartum experiences. The yoga classes really help you get in tune with your body during pregnancy, while still being accessible to all different skill levels, and Kimberly does a great job listening to the individual needs of everyone during each class. Family Tree also provides such a great community of women going through the same things, and really enhances your pregnancy/postpartum supports. I cannot recommend Kimberly and her studio enough!!!!!!!!
May 09 · Marianne CardilloI love Kimberly’s classes! I was in the 4th trimester mom's group and also took one of her baby and me yoga classes. Kimberly was so warm and created an environment where we felt comfortable sharing our own experiences as we transitioned into the 4th trimester. The mom’s group was an amazing opportunity to connect with my baby and other moms. The baby and me yoga class was a great way to ease back into movement postpartum while also learning about how to support my baby with her motor development.I’ve had the pleasure of meeting other mamas who are in similar stages of life and I am grateful to Kimberly for welcoming us and offering this community of support. I’d highly recommend Kimberly’s classes & series!
May 07 · Ariel BlumKimberly is a true professional with so much knowledge about pregnancy and postpartum/baby care. She is always willing to brainstorm and help out her moms. When I felt alone in pregnancy and postpartum, these classes and community got me through it. I’ve made new best friends, with babies all the same age. The empowered pregnancy and fourth trimester groups are amazing!! I would recommend these classes to anyone, whether you’re looking for movement during pregnancy, pre and postnatal education, or just to get out of the house and meet other new moms, you will be so grateful that you joined this community!
May 16 · Pam FrampolskyThis review is long overdue. I first heard about Family Tree Yoga from the stamford moms page and began taking my newborn to Baby & Me Yoga at 7 weeks. Ms Kimberly creates such an inviting and safe space for moms with all her programming. Watching my baby grow and become more and more engaged in a practice I personally enjoy was so fulfilling. I ended up joining one of the new moms groups Ms Kimberly runs where I met other new moms I am still in touch with today, and my daughter loves sensory art sessions and holiday crafts where she's able to interact with other babies and engage in stimulating play and crafts. Ms Kimberly has a wealth of knowledge and can recommend practitioners from pelvic floor therapists to sleep consultants. I'm so glad I found this community, it will be a very sad day when my daughter becomes too old to attend Family Tree Yoga classes!
