Equinox Lincoln Park Introduce
For many of us in Illinois, particularly those in the bustling city of Chicago, finding a gym is a choice that reflects not just our fitness goals, but our lifestyle. Equinox Lincoln Park stands out as a premier destination for those seeking a high-end, comprehensive wellness experience. Situated in one of Chicago’s most desirable neighborhoods, this isn't your average fitness center. It’s a luxury health club that blends state-of-the-art facilities with a wide array of services, aiming to provide a holistic approach to health and well-being. From dedicated studios to a full-service spa, Equinox caters to a member who values quality, convenience, and a vibrant, health-focused community.
However, as with any high-end service, a discerning eye is crucial. The candid feedback from some members offers a balanced perspective. While the gym is often lauded for its sleek design and range of equipment, some have pointed out that the high price point comes with certain expectations that are not always met. Issues like inconsistent hot water or broken amenities are mentioned as repeat problems. Despite this, the general consensus is that Equinox Lincoln Park is a "decent gym" that offers a great, uncrowded atmosphere. The focus here is on the overall experience, which extends beyond just the workout floor to include luxurious amenities and a wide range of services designed to make fitness an integral and enjoyable part of your life. It's for the Illinois resident who is ready to invest in a fitness and wellness program that delivers both results and a premium experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Equinox Lincoln Park takes full advantage of being the only decent gym in the nearby area since they know the LA Fitness a block away is a dump. As a result, they charge insane membership fees for being a slightly above average gym. They often have the same repeat issues: No hot water, broken air conditioning, buckets catching water from the ceiling, and functioning but slightly damaged equipment. It’s still a decent gym, but it’s no where in the realm of being worth $200+ a month for just this one club.
August 13 · AndrewOverall Equinox is very nice and not too crowed. However, it is not a good value. Machines are are old and limited to just two brands. They had a PowerPlate and never replaced it. Prices go up and amenities go down. At this price point get some hairspray, deodorant, a clothes steamer, and nice blow dryers.
August 19 · James SullivanYou're never going to get in shape going here. The personal trainers need personal trainers. Just look at them are these people you want to look like? There are minimal squat racks, a bunch of equipment in places that doesn't make sense but endless bosu balls and other overhyped nonsense like that. Cardio equipment is Life Fitness garbage — not upgraded like some of the better clubs in New York or Miami. Most of the members are unimpressive. If choosing clubs in Chicago, Lincoln Common is better. Only thing going for this EQX is the sled and turf, which were thrown in as an after thought. LA Fitness across has a better set up for crying out loud and that place is well LA Fitness.
August 13 · Ryan ObanionChristy Pemrick is truly the best yoga instructor I’ve ever had—anywhere. Her classes are the perfect balance of physical challenge and intention. Christy has a gift for creating a space that feels grounded. No other class compares!!!
June 28 · Emilija DeksnysThis place is a JOKE. For the prices they charge for the location only BUT extremely run down building interiors. It makes zero sense for them to be charging soo much when someone can obviously just get their membership at the Lincoln commons location newly built - and exquisite in interiors. The walls are dirty with stains that are permanent. The new Grown Alchemist shower products are very weak in efficacy. I would double wash my hair and still the next day my scalp and hair were oily and unclean. The body wash no matter how much u scrub, you're still feeling itchy and dirty and oily. Zero disinfecting, sanitizing effectiveness, and note I was not even a heavy sweater. I can't even imagine what it's like for those coming out of extreme sweating classes or even extreme heavy duty personal workouts or those with natural excess sweating biologically. To me it is mind boggling how executives for a GYM made the decision for shower hygiene products that are not effective at all. NOTE - I AM NOT EVEN A HEAVY SWEATERMeanwhile the spa is soo run down with interiors of wallpaper peeling off, old furniture, oil stained bedsheets, extremely rough spa towels, outdated decor all the while....... charging extremely high prices. I understand the location of Lincoln park being expensive but even the near by spas in the same location are not as high priced.Simultaneously you pay a heavy monthly membership fee only to realize that the spa located inside the gym as a part of the whole package of a club only to realize their is no members discounted prices exclusively for members. It's a business within a business, just not officially like the smoothie bar.Meaning I can bring my friend from out of town to the spa for a spa day, and the same price she pays is the same price I pay for the same service.....despite me being a member of the club paying monthly dues that provides revenue to the business vs. a one time business transaction from someone out of town where no equinox gym exists for them to ever consider becoming a monthly paying member under contract.Really doesn't make any sense, meanwhile l've heard other gyms provide their members with 1 free spa service every month. Hello...... talk about feeling valued as a loyal paying member! Feels good when such incentives are available to members vs one time non members of the club's amenities.Meanwhile the high rotation of personal trainers and massage therapists is exhausting, always having to start from the beginning with a new person despite them having access to our appointment history and individual profile. It feels like you're always taking a detour with your wellness. Who knows why this entry/exit of sooo many employees exists at this location, but they were all very nice and exquisite in the work they did - personal trainers, spa providers, front desk, the retail shop and even maintenance. If you're able to look over everything else for nice, customer service oriented employees on the floor level, Then by all means. Just remember they come and go but each time are still the best. Can't say that for all the managers though. Some were great, others not so much. The managers were a hit or miss. Rachel gave off unpleasant vibes. I still recall one time I needed to speak with a manager, the front desk was glad to let the manager onsite know, only to come back to let me know she's working out .... okaaaaay . Nice way for management to put members first.Good luck with this location
