★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1EDIT: I originally gave a very harsh review, when I was in the wrong and misread the confirmation email about class start times and their address. I am so sorry to DC Row and am looking forward to the future class. They responded very kindly and cordially to my review and were very understanding.Apologies, again for my misunderstanding and original negative review.
July 03 · daryl pFantastic! I love this place! I’ve maybe taken 4-5 classes at DC Row and I always leave feeling like I received a great full body workout. I just had my first Scull & Sculpt class with Kristen Duncan this morning and I’m currently recovering as I type this. Kristen is extremely motivating and proved to be a highly knowledgeable instructor. In my opinion she put together a perfect high intensity/recovery/off the row machine (modified pushups, bicep curls, abdominal crunches) workout. She was great at reminding you to be mindful of your form, to breathe and of the goals to reach during the class. Great communicator! Great feedback! I’m so glad we have DC Row in our neighborhood and hope that more people take advantage of this fantastic small business!
October 08 · Mel MarshallAdded on class pass and walked all the way in the rain to the gym for it not to be at the address. The advertising on the doors and windows says DC Row, but it’s not for DC row. I called them a few times 10/15 minutes before my class hoping someone could tell me the right entrance, no answer. Won’t be going again— either update the branding on the door or pick up the phone. I’m out $14 because I had to cancel, never found the place.
March 02 · Maya MosleyI can't believe that this place doesn't have more recent reviews! I moved to DC in September and immediately started attending classes at DC Row. This pandemic is never-ending, so the classes are smaller than they might have been before - I am often the only one. But, the machines are pretty well spread out and the instructors do a good job of following mandates for masks/vaccinations, so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable if the classes were fuller.I've been to all 3 of their class-types. The Crew Clinic is amazing for beginners to learn rowing technique; it's slower paced, but still a good workout. The Row Flow class is more endurance-based, and the Scull and Sculpt class (my fav) is more HIIT-based. Honestly, as someone who despises cardio with every. single. fiber. of my being... I was shocked at how much I truly enjoy rowing. All of the instructors have been great, too. Brittany is so fun and has amazing energy. Tina's classes kick my a** in the best way. I've also had classes with a couple of other instructors and they've all been wonderful.Overall - really great place. Great people. Great workout. I bring everyone who visits me to a class here and they all love it. If you've been thinking about it, or just want to try a new type of exercise - do it!
January 27 · Jennifer BuckDC Row is not following Covid protocols that are required in DC right now. When I walked in for my first class the instructor was not wearing a mask and did not check my vaccination card. Another person walked in without a mask and asked the instructor for one. He said masks were optional, and she didn’t put one on.This is a violation of the current mask requirement and vaccination check in DC restaurants, gyms, etc. When I told him this he acted like he had no idea what this was. I left and did not experience the class.
