This isn't just a place to practice yoga; it's a sanctuary for growth, connection, and self-discovery. As a women-owned business, the studio has cultivated a beautiful and bright atmosphere where every individual is welcomed with open arms. The instructors reflect this welcoming vibe, creating an environment that is supportive and encouraging for students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Whether you're a long-time yogi or returning to your mat after a hiatus, Dancing Dogs Yoga provides a space where you can feel at home and truly enjoy your practice. The studio’s commitment to an open, friendly, and judgment-free space is what makes it a standout destination in the Atlanta yoga scene.
The studio's dedication to diversity is its biggest strength. Dancing Dogs Yoga prides itself on being an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space, ensuring that everyone who walks through the door feels seen, respected, and celebrated. This ethos extends to their class offerings as well. While many studios in the city may focus solely on one style, Dancing Dogs Yoga offers a wide range of classes to meet different needs and preferences. From a "fun, sweaty, powerful Vinyasa" class to grounding Yin and Restorative sessions, there is an option for everyone. This variety is a huge draw for members who appreciate having the choice between a challenging, heated workout and a more gentle, unheated flow. It’s a place where you can explore different modalities and deepen your practice in a way that feels authentic to you.
Dancing Dogs Yoga goes beyond the typical class schedule with offerings that help students truly immerse themselves in the practice. The studio offers world-class teacher trainings and certifications for those who feel called to share the transformative power of yoga with others. These courses, including comprehensive 200- and 300-hour programs, are designed to not only teach the fundamentals of a yoga practice but also to empower students to become leaders in their community. The programs are rooted in traditional yoga philosophy and are described by graduates as nothing short of "transforming," providing a holistic education that extends far beyond the physical postures. Whether you want to teach or simply deepen your personal practice, the studio’s teacher training is an investment in your growth and future.
For those looking for more personalized attention, Dancing Dogs Yoga also offers private lessons, allowing for a one-on-one experience with a skilled instructor. This is an excellent option for beginners who want to build a solid foundation or for experienced students who want to work on a specific area of their practice. Additionally, the studio hosts workshops, special events, and retreats, providing opportunities for students to connect with each other and explore different aspects of yoga, meditation, and philosophy. They even partner with community organizations for unique events like "Yoga in the Park" or "Puppy Yoga," bringing the practice out of the studio and into the city, reinforcing their commitment to community on and off the mat.
The atmosphere of the studio itself is a huge part of its appeal. The space is beautiful and bright, creating a clean and welcoming backdrop for your practice. Conveniently located, the studio is easy to get to and offers multiple parking options, including a free parking lot and free street parking. Amenities like gender-neutral restrooms, standard restrooms, and an appointment-recommended policy add to the comfort and convenience of a visit. The studio is also committed to accessibility, with a wheelchair-accessible parking lot and restroom. All of these features work together to create an environment where you can focus entirely on your practice, your breath, and your well-being.
The positive experiences shared by clients, from visitors who enjoyed multiple classes during their stay to those who have found a new love for yoga after years away, are a strong testament to the quality of the studio. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a great studio! Beautiful and bright atmosphere where the instructors reflect the atmosphere. I enjoyed being able to get in two classes at this studio during my visit!
March 11 · Sam LieuranceI’ve been wanting to get back into yoga after a many-years hiatus. When I looked into studios, it seemed like every place only offered hot yoga which is not my speed. I learned about Dancing Dogs Yoga while taking a puppy yoga class at the AHS taught by a DDY instructor. I was pleased to find out that DDY offers both unheated and heated classes as well as classes for all levels of students—beginners to advanced. I joined the studio and have been every day since. I’ve taken restorative, yin, Hatha and slower flow classes. In short, I love DDY and highly recommend.
March 31 · Jennifer SilverThe amount that I was charged for two people to do a yoga class is INSANE. Not only that I cannot believe that all of the funds go to the studio. This place supports breeders, you should get with a shelter and help dogs in need not your own pockets, also by the last class happens thoes poor babies are exhausted. DO BETTER.
June 02 · ashley HurdleDancing dogs is a great studio! I’ve taken different classes with different teachers and everyone has been amazing in a unique way. Great sound tracks, interesting classes - doesn’t feel like the repetitive classes I’ve been to at other places. Highly recommend
March 11 · Kathy CrainWhen I was searching for a yoga home, I found DDY ATL. I live in NC. I have driven to be a part of the community 6+ hour each way for years…why? because it is community.. It is love. It is understanding..Shelley has curated a space where all are welcome. She will hand your ass to you on a yoga platter, which i love. Her knowledge of the sutras and mythology is on point. Her knowledge that every body is a different and lovely body is tantamount. I send mad respect.
