Choosing a gym is a personal decision, and Crunch Fitness - Toms River offers several compelling reasons to make it your fitness home. The most notable factor is the newness of the facility. One customer noted that the new machines are a "huge plus," and the updated layout makes the space feel "more open and efficient." This commitment to a high-quality physical environment is a major draw.
While some members have raised concerns about specific policies like weekend hours and the cost of amenities, it's clear that the gym is still a worthwhile choice for many. The staff is described as "great," which is a crucial component of any positive gym experience. The fact that the courts are often empty, as one customer pointed out, could be a benefit for those who don't want to wait to use certain equipment. For a member who primarily focuses on cardio and strength training with the base membership, the new facility and equipment provide great value.
Furthermore, the gym's commitment to accessibility with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom demonstrates a dedication to serving the entire community. This inclusivity is a strong point. The convenient location and flexible payment options also make it a practical choice for a wide range of individuals. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Beautiful new gym, lots of new equipment, including a better climate, but not the hours…7 p.m. on weekends. What is it? A department store or a gym? So not everyone has a perfect work-life balance with weekends off;some have to workweekends and then like to go for a workout,so now I guess us weekend workers have to find a gym with normal gym hours and not Macy’s? You have to do better than 7 p.m.
July 25 · Shore DaveUnfortunately the gym got greedy, while the new gym is quite nice and some staff are great you have to pay $37 to use amenities that should be included in every other base membership and to top that your guest can't even play with you so you have to have them pay. Meanwhile the courts are empty a good portion of the time. What is crazy is they increased the price from the last location but still are asking you for more money to use stuff. Not worth the membership anymore
August 25 · GlennThis afternoon I went to the new site that Crunch had to offer.I went in spoke to one the receptionist, he checked me in and I took a guest tour. The facility looked great, as I’m looking for a new gym and was a previous member at the old site on Fischer blvd, the new location looked like a great fit.Until I went back to get more information. I was speaking to another receptionist about a guest pass and signing up. She was pretty short and seemed uninterested until her friend showed up. she obviously knew this young man because she said hello even before he checked in at the receptionist. I was then completely ignored, and I still had some more questions!!She kept chatting away. eventually I walked away. As soon as I got home I called Crunch and addressed the situation with the desk, they said they would look into it without any indication acknowledging the bad service. If this is the way they treat potential clients./members then there are other gyms that show more respect.I’m giving 2 stars as opposed to 1 since the first person I spoke to was actually attentive and showed interest in my being there.n Again it’s a nice facility but the level of customer service is not worth it, IMHO.
July 24 · dante mojaresI just rejoined Crunch at the new facility, and I’m so glad I did. My experience at the old location was very negative — the manager, Mike, was arrogant and rude, and it made the environment really unpleasant. I sincerely hope he is not affiliated with this new location. That being said, I’m really enjoying the hot early-morning weekend classes — please keep those on the schedule! I would also love to see 5 AM classes offered during the week, as well as more hot classes in general, especially hot Pilates.
August 24 · A HNot the gym for heavy lifting-Young girl who claimed to be the floor manager stopped a guest tour to talk to me mid rep while I am deadlifting 495 to tell me that the Coated plates break on the rubber platform and I can only use the 3” bumpers-I tried to tell her (while mid rep) that’s not true, but also I have a bumper first so the black plates don’t touch the floor- besides the gym has maybe 14 blues downstairs and a bar can’t fit 5 bumpers plus and clips on these bars.Anyways- walking up to someone mid set at heavyish weight is crazy dangerous- I went upstairs and asked to speak to a manager- she said she was it.So I asked for someone above her. She was rather young, very rude and I really didn’t believe she was a manager.Anyways as I walked away ( to this point in the interaction I was nice) and she then starts talking bad about me and I am not even 10 feet away. Then I was no longer as nice- lots of people complain about her.Overall- the gym has nice accessories equipment- peak hours have 350 plus people there and the staff is very young and new to the fitness industry-With so many option and if a young girl who thinks deadlifting breaks coated plates is in charge, there are so many better options.Also- other friends and family heard her continue to talk about me well after I left . Unfortunately for her this video is posted of her literally telling me this as I am lifting. But I did hear her say that didn’t happen when she was talking 💩 about me to staff… camera says…..that was a lieLiterally a screen shot of my face which my friends turned into a meme of me looking confused as to why she’s scolding me during a deadlift
