★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update 8/9/2025: still the worst gym in the areaSome cosmetic issues are resolved but the following continue to be a problem:-Classes have doors wide open. The entire gym gets to hear the class at maximum volume. Highly unprofessional.-ZERO water fountain. It should be illegal to operate a gym without a working fountain.-Hot water and water pressure Issues continue to be problems. Management is unresponsive. The one time they did comment on this, they blamed the landlord. Nothing but excuses.Cable station by window has a problem with one side. This has been reported several times.———Update 2/2/2025: most of the issues shown prior have since been resolved. There is an issue with staff not showing up on Saturday mornings when the gym is scheduled to be open. This has happened numerous times, including today. There are puddles all over the floors due to leaks in the ceiling. The Saturday morning cycling class instructor leaves the door wide open. It’s extremely obnoxious. I reported to the front desk and they said they can’t do anything about it.Very unprofessional.——This is definitely the worst gym in the area. It is falling apart and I would not recommend it to anyone.-Hot water and water pressure issues in the men’s room since they opened 5+ years ago-Tons of machines (and the only water fountain) are frequently out of order.-There is one working digital scale; the others need to be calibrated, both on the floor and in the bathrooms-Many of the weight benches need repair or are missing parts-Machines are missing labels on the weights-Parts of the walls are peelingEvery manager just gives excuses. I think the location is privately owned. This might be why there’s always issues.UPDATE: As of 8/10/2024, only the water fountain has been fixed.
August 09 · Mr. CymbalsJuly 16, 2025ZERO ZERO HANDICAPPED PARKING SPOTS ZEROAND THEY FORCE YOU TO BUY THEIR OVERPRICED DRINKS BY HAVING WARM WATER AT THE WATER FOUNTAINS, when they even workApril 15,2025 updateStill fighting with BROKEN EQUIPMENTA man was just here to fix broken equipment, he fixed a couple but DIDN’t fix everything And the crunch QR code to report broken equipment DOESN’T WORK, and tries to get your email address which I AM SURE CRUNCH is selling our dataEQUIPMENT always broken !!!Takes the owners 6-8 months to fix equipment and the idiots that try to fix the equipment DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING When equipment is finally fixed, the fixes BARELY last a MONTH, before they break againEVEN THE TOILETS KEEP BREAKING(AND IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE)Water fountain in various states of dysfunction Broken, No water pressure, WARM WATER (always warm) if your lucky to get anyPeople are all complaining left and right, including staff HOW MANY MONTHS UNTIL THINGS ARE FIXED ?!?!?!?!1. There are no longer $9.99 a month memberships, its new owners and new prices and no more frozen memberships like in the last 50 years at gyms2. Broken equipment and critical equipment for, not days, not weeks, BUT MONTHS !!!! AND MONTHS !!!!!3. Place is dirty and uncleaned4. During COVID they did not enforce mask wearing5. The bicycle class and tread mill class music and coaching is SO LOUD you can’t hear your own music even with ear buds6. From where ever they get the younger high school or jr college crowd they come in, in groups of 3-5 and tie up the limited equipment due to being broken and they talk and talk and talk check their phones and talk some more7. The TVs for the cardio bikes no longer have TV or anything Its just advertising8. The ropes, and bars are either broken or all on the other end of the gym, so if you go to get the rope for cables by the time you get back you lost your turn9. Such a shortage of equipment that some people place coats or bags or cell phone on the equipment so they hold it for there next exercise or superset and tie up 3-4 pieces of equipment for 1 person10. Several of the bars are broken and some group of people keep a bar under lock and chain and you gotta know someone to get the combination11. Their are NO PRICES marked on beverages and in the few prices i went out to compare you’ll pay 2x -3x more than what it is in amazon or at Vitamin Shoppe12. Majority of these problems didn’t exist with the prior owner, these new owner(s) are COMPLETELY out of touch but their own gym in the albany area gets carte blanche13. They have some idiot replying to complaints saying “THEY WANNA HEAR FROM YOU”, “THEY ARE SO SORRY”* THEN FIX THE EQUIPMENT* READ THE COMPLAINTS*******************************FINALLY SOMEONE IS DISTRIBUTING A CLASS ACTION COMPLAINT AGAINST CRUNCH GYM FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Thank god, finally !!!!
July 16 · GiaAbsolutely the best gym. Good variety of classes that are 30 minutes long. If you want more, take two! Good selection of equipment that is always clean and well-maintained. Clean locker rooms (very important). The personal training sessions (Joe) are tailored to my needs and the issues I'm working to improve. I no longer need the surgery, and am quickly recovering mobility.
April 15 · Alison SteeleI really liked this gym, and I basically use it exclusively for the classes, as it's hard for me to go in and work out solo. I really enjoyed the classes with Sara and Gina, the yoga instructors. They were also accessible for my mother, who has lung disease. Unfortunately, I had to change my schedule and can only go in the evenings. I tried the evening classes, and the instructor was nice, but it was way too challenging for my mother, and we personally just wanted to leave after a few minutes. I really think this location would benefit from staggering instructors for different times of the day, so that people who can't keep up with the harder evening classes can still enjoy a class at least once or twice a week. It would be nice to have more accessible options, especially for people with disabilities who want to be healthy and get stronger at an appropriate pace. This experience, unfortunately, has me rethinking my membership.
May 27 · Marissa ZThis is the Dollar Store of gyms. It is pure garbage, disappointing, and should not even be allowed to operate as a franchisee of Crunch. Allow me to explain ...1. The staff are college kids at best. Some do not even show up to early shifts, and you will sit in your car outside waiting for the gym to open. This has happened to me multiple times.2. The ceiling leaks. Be prepared for puddles randomly around the gym floor.3. The Monday through Friday classes reserve EVERY treadmill in the gym. Then, maybe 5 to 10 people show up for the class. Does the instructor remove the reserved signs so other patrons can do some cardio? NOPE.4. The water fountain does not work. It dispenses lukewarm, sometimes hot water.5. Tons of water issues with the men and women's bathrooms. Low water pressure in the showers, sinks, etc.6. The gym has paper towel dispensers and wipe dispensers hanging around the gym. These are almost always empty or broken. You can report them to the college kids at the front desk, but someone needs to be checking every 60 minutes.7. The garbage cans are not emptied regularly. They are overflowing every time I am there.8. The monthly rate goes up every year. They call it a "facility improvement" fee. Yet, nothing is improved. Things are barely maintained as it is.9. The classes that take place in the "gym" and cycling room do so with the doors wide open. This means everyone in the gym has to hear the classes at maximum volume. This is rude to the other gym patrons, to say the least. This has been reported to the front desk and they all do the same thing. They shrug their shoulders or say, "Yup. I know."That's what I experience multiple times a week, in a nutshell. I would consider anywhere other than here.
