One of the most appealing aspects of Crunch Fitness is the sheer variety of services designed to keep workouts fresh and engaging. They go far beyond just providing free weights and cardio machines, offering a dynamic range of classes and personalized guidance.
Aerobics: A variety of high-energy, cardio-focused group classes are available to help members burn calories and improve cardiovascular health in a fun, social setting.
Cycling: The gym has a dedicated ride studio for indoor cycling classes. This high-intensity workout is great for building endurance and strengthening the lower body.

Kickboxing: For a powerful, stress-relieving workout, kickboxing classes teach techniques for striking and footwork while providing a full-body workout.
Nutrition Consulting: Beyond just exercise, Crunch Fitness offers nutrition consulting to help members align their diet with their fitness goals. This holistic approach supports a healthier lifestyle from all angles.
Personal Training: For those seeking one-on-one guidance, the gym provides personal training services. A team of trainers can create customized workout plans and provide motivation, though some member feedback suggests an assessment of the right trainer for you is important. The team is intended to provide one-on-one guidance, motivation, and support tailored to unique needs and fitness goals.
Private Lessons: These specialized sessions offer more focused attention for specific skills or goals.
Youth Classes: The gym offers youth classes and has a Kids' Crunch babysitting service, making it easier for parents to get their workouts in while their children are supervised in a safe and engaging environment.
Zumba: This popular dance-fitness program combines Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves for a high-energy workout that feels more like a party than exercise.
Crunch Fitness - Pleasant Hills boasts several features that enhance the member experience, from practical amenities to wellness offerings.
Sauna: A key feature for post-workout recovery, the sauna helps members relax muscles, improve circulation, and unwind after a strenuous session.
Showers: The facility includes locker rooms with showers, providing a convenient way for members to clean up and get on with their day immediately after their workout.
Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the gym, allowing members to stay connected, stream their favorite music, or track their workouts online.

For residents in Pennsylvania, choosing a gym like Crunch Fitness - Pleasant Hills comes with a unique set of pros and cons. The gym’s main value proposition is its extensive offerings and high-value, low-cost model, with memberships starting at very affordable prices. This makes it an accessible option for a wide range of budgets. The variety of group classes, including Zumba, kickboxing, and cycling, is a major draw, providing a fun and social way to stay active. The amenities, such as the sauna and massage chairs, add a layer of luxury and recovery that elevates the standard gym experience. The fact that the gym is new, clean, and has a large selection of equipment is also a significant plus, as noted by happy members.
However, it's crucial for prospective members to be aware of the potential downsides, as highlighted by some customer reviews. The gym can become extremely crowded, particularly during peak hours (3:30 pm to 8:00 pm), with a significant presence of high schoolers. This can lead to equipment being "machine hogged" or left in disarray. The atmosphere is sometimes described as more of a "social club" than a dedicated workout space, and some members have had less positive experiences with staff professionalism and cleanliness of facilities like the bathrooms. The personal training team also receives mixed reviews, with some questioning the experience level of the trainers.
In conclusion, Crunch Fitness - Pleasant Hills is a great choice for those who thrive in a high-energy, social environment and are motivated by a wide variety of group fitness classes. The gym is perfect for those who are either morning birds who can work out before 5:30 am or those who can visit late at night to avoid the crowds. The added benefits of a sauna, showers, and other amenities offer a great value for the price. However, if you are a serious, avid lifter who needs a quiet space, or if you are looking for a highly personal and structured environment during peak hours, this gym might not be the right fit. For the majority of people, though, who want to have fun while getting fit in a new and well-equipped space, Crunch Fitness - Pleasant Hills provides an excellent and engaging option in the Pennsylvania fitness landscape.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great new gym with warm showers (unlike the purple gym up the hill I recently left) classes, massage chairs, sauna, and tanning bed. The AM front desk, Ricki, is the sweetest person I’ve met! She hypes us up so much! The classes are fun too. The only complaint I have is the crowd (mostly high schoolers, but it’s not just them) that likes to machine hog for an hour and leaves trash and equipment all over the place and out of the designated area. I’ve seen them kicking around and tossing equipment for no reason. We run too many specials and have a packed gym unless you get there super late or before 0530 in the morning
December 18 · Victoria HayesUsed to be an LA Fitness member and gave Crunch a shot for a full year. Here’s my perspective.Don’t try to go from 330-8pm. You will have a bunch of teenage boys hanging on the cable machines staring at girls in tube tops training legs. You can’t get a bench or on the cable machines to save your life. If you ask to work in, they ignore you.The bathrooms are DISGUSTINGLY dirty. Floors aren’t cleaned and usually there isn’t any cleaner in the spray bottles to wipe down equipment. The personal training team is not to be desired. These are kids or late 20 yr olds that got an accreditation online. A trainer needs to be in shape and approachable. Most of the time they are sitting at the trainer’s desk on their phones. The front desk is the same way. You don’t get acknowledged or greeted when walking in the door. Now, I’m not looking for a red carpet “welcome.” If they would even look up or away from their co-workers to greet people, it would be a different story. The environment is just not a good vibe at all. The employees don’t want to be there and it shows. The people working out are treating it like a social club. I only gave 2 stars because the equipment was decent. ( I cancelled my membership last week.)
August 12 · Jessica RebholzOut of every gym I’ve been to in the Mon Valley area, this one stands out — not just for the workouts, but for the way they treat people with disabilities. Here, kindness isn’t just a policy — it’s a practice. Unlike what I’ve personally experienced at gyms in Pleasant Hills, the Waterfront, or West Mifflin, this place is different. No intimidation. No cruelty. No officers harassing disabled members. Just respect, inclusion, and humanity. In 52 years, I’ve never felt safer or more seen in a gym. Thank you for setting the standard — this is what community looks like. 💪💖
August 03 · James “Jimmy” TalaricoWas long time member of la fitness at this locationI was hoping that crunch was better and didn’t fall off after little time. In my opinion the variety of different equipment options are big improvement, someone is always cleaning up unfortunately some members aren’t respectful in cleaning after themselves. Also in my opinion Nate is a great choice to manage the place, I personally think he cares about members and their experience. I would definitely recommend to anyone. One thing I would like to see is corporate to add a T bar row to the place definitely would make most happy.Another thing I like is even though they now have more trainers than LA did, they don’t act like they own the place like they did at LA. Staff is all pleasant keep up the great work
June 13 · RReally disappointing experience with staff and friendliness all around at this location. I love Crunch and have worked for the company previously, the staff here seems to give a very hard time about membership terms and cancellation requests. Any time my spouse or I called with a question it was a run around to get any help or a clear answer. Employees contradicted themselves and it seems there’s no universal training or understanding amongst staff. When you’re making a consistent monthly payment it’s expected to have professional & friendly service, not rude and unhelpful staff members. Crunch has always been about working with people and being friendly, I recommend finding a different gym with genuine staff and people that won’t just give you the run around for a monthly payment and/or actually know what their contract includes and can explain to members. There’s amazing private gyms here that are genuinely in it for their love of people & fitness, this location falls extremely flat.
