Crunch Fitness - Harrisburg is worth choosing for several key reasons, particularly for residents in the Harrisburg area looking for a high-value gym membership. The most significant factor is the combination of its great price point and the comprehensive range of amenities it offers. As one long-term member noted, it is "pretty solid all around at a great price point" for a Harrisburg resident. The gym's free weight selection, which includes multiple squat racks and benches, is a major draw for weightlifters and those serious about strength training. This kind of equipment availability at a low cost is a rarity in central Pennsylvania, making it a highly attractive option. The inclusion of a sauna, which is reportedly well-maintained and rarely out of service, is another standout feature that adds significant value to the membership. This amenity provides a perfect way to relax and recover after a tough workout, a benefit that is often only available at more expensive, premium gyms. Furthermore, the overall atmosphere and staff are consistently praised by members. The gym is described as having a "good atmosphere" and "nice" staff, with the manager being particularly appreciated. This friendly and welcoming environment is crucial for member retention and can make the difference between a successful fitness journey and one that falls short. While some members have expressed frustration about patrons not re-racking weights, this is a common issue in many gyms and is often a matter of community effort. The fact that the equipment itself is well-maintained and in good condition is a more important long-term factor. For those who are used to the often-limited equipment of budget gyms, Crunch Fitness provides a significant upgrade without the premium price tag. Its accessibility, with wheelchair-friendly features, and convenient location also add to its appeal. In summary, Crunch Fitness - Harrisburg offers an unbeatable combination of quality equipment, valuable amenities like a sauna, and a positive community, all at a cost that is hard to beat for anyone living in the Pennsylvania capital region.

Crunch Fitness - Harrisburg Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m a regular gym goer of 10 years and gone to gyms all over Dauphin and Cumberland county. I’ve been to this one for 3 years. If you are a regular Joe weightlifter or gym goer this gym is pretty solid all around at a great price point for a Harrisburg resident to get in a quality lift and sauna session at a low cost. The recent negative reviews are really quite excessive and I’d take them with a grain of salt.Weights and machines are well maintained, no rust (for the inside equipment) and well oiled. Not sure if these other reviewers expect every gym to have perfect just unboxed machines but in my opinion the equipment is good with minimal gym wear and tear for the age. The sauna is great and in my experience almost never out, which is exceedingly rare in central PA. Sure it may not be clean enough to eat off the floor of it but what do you expect, it’s a sauna and guys are sweating. The price point to have a gym with their level of free weight selection, 5 squat racks, and 4 benches not including outside is hard to beat. Lastly, I have had no problems with the staff. I don’t ask for much but when I’ve asked for help on something I’ve gotten it pretty easily. Not sure if other reviewers had one bad experience and are judging an entire facility on that but in my experience the customer service is good. Now as a regular gym goer I do get frustrated at the lack of policing of patrons not putting back their weights once they put them on machines or bars. Of all the gyms I have been to locally this one doesn’t have the best handle on that issue and I think this gyms management should take that issue seriously because loyal customers like me get driven out by enabling this poor behavior.
August 15 · Jacob MillerI’ve been a member to most gyms in the area and I prefer Crunch. It’s clean, the equipment gets serviced quickly, the staff is nice especially the manager (not sure of his name). Overall it’s a good atmosphere. The only thing I would change are the hours. The weekend hours should be extended a bit. Otherwise, if you’re thinking about joining a gym, I’d recommend this one
July 31 · Jaymie ShatzerI’ve had a mixed experience here, but overall it’s been improving. Initially, I ran into some frustrations—communication can be difficult at times, and some of the equipment is definitely due for an upgrade or better maintenance. The membership cancellation process also felt a bit rigid, with policies that aren’t always customer-friendly.That said, my experience took a major turn for the better once I started working with Katie. She’s professional, motivating, and truly cares about helping clients reach their fitness goals. If you’re committed to getting in shape and want someone in your corner who makes the experience worth it, definitely ask for Katie or Brandon. She’s been the highlight of my time here.
July 12 · Merced Ramirez-SaldanaThe new people are awful. I don’t know if it’s a new manager or what, but the new faces are garbage. Lately, every Tuesday and Thursday you have to bring your own wipes because nothing is refilled. The person there at the time is too busy outside vaping or inside waking around on the phone. Seems like the store strategy is to get rid of good people and bring in this kind. Working out today showed me how far this place has fallen. Today I got answers to my questions, and Thursday when I brought up how everything was empty, I was told “ sorry but it’s not my problem”.Id rather deal with planet fitness. Atleast I can be ignored for cheaper. This place needs to get it together. I hope the few good ones that are still there leave for better opportunities
August 03 · Lisa WilsonLiterally the worst gym ever! PLEASE read and listen to these reviews because there is not a lie in sight from the customers who have also experienced this same ignorance. They try their best to get you not to cancel by lying and stating you didn’t cancel your membership, would rather it build up so you can owe them while they send it to collections just because they are greedy. Front desk people are very rude, they could careless about your experience with the gym itself I spoke with a manager about the account and of course he could careless as well it’s their word against yours so basically you are just SOL and need to give them YOUR money regardless of a cancel that they failed to ‘’record’’ just a shady business all around. They add fees for any little thing while their gym lacks the basics. Please spend your money and time else where I promise it’s not worth the headache. Only good thing they have is the sauna and that barely works.
