January 23 · Patrick HaggertyCFM is for everyone and I have experienced some of the best customer service of my life from these guys! They offer so much more than just a place to work out. In the beginning, my biggest concern with lifting was form because I have three small curvatures (scoliosis) in my spine. I told the coaches from Day 1 and they have been extremely cautious in observing my form during workouts to make sure that I am performing the movement appropriately (which they do for everyone). I have been going to CFM since August and have yet to cause harmful damage to my back due to the wonderful service provided here. I recommend this place to anyone! They even have an awesome intro course that helps you ease into the general classes. :)

However, as someone who has dropped into many CrossFit gyms and coached CrossFit, I felt it was worth sharing my perspective.Dropped in last week and wasn’t greeted warmly or asked any personal questions, including whether or not I was experienced in CrossFit. The coach who hosted the class I was in had just finished taking the previous class and was visibly sweaty, struggling to catch his breath and explain the WOD.He also didn't introduce himself or ask if I had any limitations (which I did and had to bring up to him myself, after introducing myself). Throughout the class, I didn’t see him give a single coaching cue to anyone, even though he mentioned he’d been coaching for two years when I asked... so that was surprising.The members seemed friendly enough, the workout itself was good, and the music was great (personal preference), but overall, the experience didn’t leave a strong impression. Perhaps on another day, it might have felt different.
