I am a very active member of CorePower Westwood but I have been very disappointed lately. As of the last few months this studio has gone downhill. The state of the studio has been disgusting. The floor which the redone a few months ago, has not been cleaned since and every class I take my feet end up black and gross. There were rats found in the Sculpt Room last week which is absolutely disgusting as well. To top it all off the new manager, Delaney, is extremely rude and doesn't listen to any feedback (as evidence of the studio getting worse and worse since she was appointed). The previous manager, Bennet, was way more responsive and the studio seemed to function extremely well while she was there. Wherever you are, you go girlie!I really like the rest of the teachers and want to keep coming back but the state of the studio is just terrible and I cannot recommend it anymore. - Taylor M

Introduction / Overview

For many active residents across Los Angeles, particularly those living and working in the vibrant Westwood neighborhood, finding a yoga studio that blends challenging fitness with the mindfulness of a traditional practice is a priority. CorePower Yoga - Westwood, situated strategically near the UCLA campus, offers just such a blend, positioning itself as much as a dedicated **fitness center and gym** as it is a traditional yoga studio. This local establishment is part of a nationally recognized brand known for its distinctive, power-based sequences and heated class formats, making it a prominent destination for those in California seeking a rigorous, results-driven workout.

CorePower Yoga is defined by its core class types, which move beyond slow, restorative stretching to incorporate elements of **strength training**, **cardio**, and intense vinyasa flow. Beyond the physical studio space, CorePower Yoga - Westwood acknowledges the modern need for flexibility, providing both traditional **Onsite services** and comprehensive **Online classes**. This hybrid approach allows Angelenos to maintain their practice whether they are in the studio on Glendon Avenue or accessing a class from home via live stream or on-demand platforms, an important consideration for anyone managing a busy Southern California schedule. The overall ethos is a focus on a physically challenging workout that incorporates the core elements of yoga—breathwork and movement—to provide a holistic, transformative experience.

What is worth choosing

CorePower Yoga - Westwood is an excellent choice for Californians in the LA area who prioritize a **high-intensity, fitness-focused yoga practice**. The sheer **variety of class formats**—from the foundational C1 to the strength-building Yoga Sculpt and intense C2—means users can truly diversify their fitness routine all in one location. This is a significant draw for those who want a powerful workout and not just a slow stretch. The clear commitment to being an **LGBTQ+ friendly** and **Transgender safespace** also ensures that the studio provides a broadly inclusive and supportive community, a key factor for many in the progressive Los Angeles environment. The practical amenities like **showers** and **Wi-Fi** add a layer of convenience essential for those fitting a workout into a busy day.

However, it is crucial for prospective members in the local area to have a full, factual picture, incorporating real customer experiences. While the quality of many **individual instructors** is highly praised by the local community, recent customer feedback has raised serious concerns regarding the **studio's cleanliness and maintenance**. Specific mentions of uncleaned floors leading to "black and gross" feet and disturbing reports of rodents in one of the class rooms point to potential shortfalls in facility management that could negatively impact the experience.

Furthermore, due to the studio's proximity to a major university, the general class crowd can skew younger. Some patrons have reported issues with classes being **over-packed** and a noticeable lack of respect for the quiet, meditative aspect of the practice, with students frequently **gossiping** before or during class. There are also reports of classes **starting and finishing late**, which can be particularly frustrating for users who have paid for parking in the Westwood area.

In summary, CorePower Yoga - Westwood is strongly recommended for local users seeking **exceptional, structured class formats** and a high-energy workout guided by well-regarded teachers. The studio's clear strength is its **product—the fitness yoga classes**. However, potential members should weigh this against recent administrative and facility challenges and be prepared for a highly social, sometimes crowded, environment, particularly in the popular classes like Yoga Sculpt. As suggested by a local reviewer, exploring other CorePower locations might be advisable if facility cleanliness or a strictly quiet, traditional yoga environment is a non-negotiable priority. For those who can overlook these occasional issues and thrive in a bustling, high-energy fitness studio, the specialized classes at the Westwood location remain a powerful and engaging option.
