Debated whether to give a 2 or a 3. I think clases are a 5 because the instructors are really good, and it’s a great workout. However, whatever happened to the facilities?? Whoever manages this chain is not doing a great job. Is it too much to ask to have someone clean the bathroom? Also they need to clean and mop the floors between classes. Noting that this is not specific to Nomad. Went to the studio at Bryant Park and it was a similar experience. - Mayra A Cavazos

Your Guide to CorePower Yoga - NoMad: An Intense Workout with Mixed Reviews

CorePower Yoga has established itself as a major player in the fitness world, known for its unique blend of traditional yoga and high-intensity workouts. The NoMad location, situated in the bustling heart of Manhattan, is no exception. This studio offers a variety of heated classes, from foundational flows to physically demanding sessions like Yoga Sculpt, which incorporates free weights and cardio. The CorePower experience is designed to be a full-body workout that leaves you sweaty, energized, and feeling accomplished. While the brand has a large and dedicated following, a closer look at the NoMad studio reveals a mix of experiences, from glowing praise for the instructors and the classes themselves, to significant concerns about the facilities and customer service. It's a place that promises a great workout, but the overall experience can vary depending on the day and the individual.

The core strength of CorePower Yoga - NoMad, according to many, lies in its instructors and the classes they lead. They are consistently described as knowledgeable, encouraging, and highly effective. The classes, whether it's a a challenging CorePower 2 flow or a dynamic Yoga Sculpt session, are celebrated for being a fun and intense way to get in shape. The heated rooms add another layer to the workout, enhancing the physical challenge and providing a sense of detoxification and rejuvenation. For those who are passionate about a vigorous, sweat-inducing workout set to great music, the classes themselves are a major draw. However, it's also clear that the high quality of the classes is sometimes overshadowed by other aspects of the studio experience.

In contrast to the positive feedback about the workout, several customer reviews highlight persistent issues with the studio's facilities and management. Complaints about cleanliness, particularly in the restrooms and on the floors between classes, have been raised by multiple customers. One review mentioned a "stinky mat" and the studio being "very dirty," a concern echoed by others who have experienced similar issues at other CorePower locations in NYC. Furthermore, some customers have had negative interactions with the staff, reporting a rude and unwelcoming atmosphere that made them feel frustrated and "unvalued." One customer described a specific incident of feeling racially profiled by a staff member, which made them leave without even taking the class. These starkly different experiences show that while the physical practice may be excellent, the studio's overall service and maintenance can sometimes fall short of expectations, leaving a sour taste for some of its patrons.

Features / Highlights

CorePower Yoga - NoMad has several key features and highlights that attract a loyal clientele, but it also has certain aspects that have drawn criticism.

  • High-Quality Instructors: The most consistently praised feature is the quality of the instructors. They are highly skilled and effective at leading challenging and motivating classes, a point that is often highlighted in customer reviews.
  • Intense Workouts: The studio's emphasis on heated, high-intensity yoga provides a fantastic physical workout. The combination of yoga, strength training, and cardio in classes like Yoga Sculpt is a major draw for those looking to build lean muscle and burn calories.
  • Inclusivity: The studio identifies as an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space, which is a significant highlight for many members of the community. This commitment to inclusivity is a positive aspect that contributes to a welcoming environment.

While the company may be working to address these issues, they are part of the current experience at this location. Therefore, a potential new member should weigh the benefits of the high-quality classes against the risks of a potentially disappointing customer service or facility experience. The best approach might be to take advantage of any trial offers to experience the studio firsthand.
