February 03 · Rachel & Brian KinleinI love the skilled my son experience and the motivation he received directly from his coach. I am very disappointed by how a few parents and one of the female coaches handle my grandson today. Extremely unprofessional. I have never experienced this treatment before. It's all about the championship banner. She snatched it out of his hands and said she was a coach. My grandson just had his oldest brother buried, and that means a little something to him. We do not need bad behavior like this around kids.
March 17 · Dorothy HixI have taken both daughters here. My eldest had Ms. Rita- she is very engaged and keeps the class on task. My youngest has had a string of very young coaches (late teens/early 20s) who are generally disengaged. She’s usually left to her own devices while the teacher watches and occasionally points at things. We’ve been taking her from age 4 to age 7 and she hasn’t learned how to do a cartwheel or a handstand or even a somersault. It’s confusing because we see groups of older kids that are clearly very skilled but it’s not clear how the younger kids actually get to that level. If you go to the rec classes, just know it’s strictly for fun (which it is) and if you’re looking for skill development, inquire about private lessons.
May 31 · Leslie BechisWe have been a part of both the HoCo parks and rec one-week gymnastics program and the PreTeam boys. Our kids loved the one week program. It seems best for kids 4 and younger. We joined the PreTeam boys afterwards and it is a great fit for 4+. Our kids loved that they get to be on the “big/real” equipment. Coach Adam is amazing with the young kids. He has the perfect balance of structure and fun. He sets boundaries with the kids so they aren’t a chaotic mess. The kids respect him and have a blast. They do the trampoline warm up, floor, rings, high bar, parallel bar, and foam pit fun jumps at the end. Different than many other sports, they get a good arm and core body work out.Thank you Coach Adam and both assistant coaches (O’Ryan and I’m sorry I forgot the second name) for being positive male role models.
April 04 · dag kjdFun place for younger kids, the instructors have all been attentive, caring and kind. The gym itself has a lot of fun equipment, but there is a slight smell to the area. I have two small concerns/requests - one is that the county offer more sessions, as the classes run through Howard County fill up extremely quickly. The other wish is that there were an office person, (or someone who isn't an instructor) who could answer questions and direct parents/kids where to go. They run a lot of classes concurrently, and if you're new, you have absolutely no way to know where to go. There is a desk, but it is never manned.
