Went in for a normal workout but ended up leaving early because a woman was working out completely barefoot, putting her feet on the gym equipment without wiping anything down. She even left her smelly shoes on the floor right by me.This is a public gym — not a living room. It was disgusting and unsanitary. I reported it to the front desk, and they said a manager would come, but I left unsure if anything was actually addressed.There should be clear rules enforced about hygiene and footwear. This kind of behavior ruins the gym experience for everyone.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience with the Centre Club in Libertyville has been disappointing enough that it needs to be said.The facility is outdated, and for the cost of membership, the value is not there. Locker rooms and common areas are inconsistently cleaned, and much of the equipment is worn down or poorly maintained. These issues alone would be frustrating, but the bigger problem is how management operates.Policies are applied inconsistently and appear to change depending on who the member is and how staff feel about them. Rules should be clear and enforced evenly, but instead they’re bent or tightened based on personal preference. That kind of treatment is unprofessional, unfair, and creates a negative atmosphere for members.For the price and reputation the Centre Club tries to uphold, I expected much higher standards. Instead, what I’ve experienced is poor upkeep, inconsistent service, and management that lacks professionalism. I would not recommend this facility.

I had a gym pass for several months.During that time, I received several conflicting pieces of information from the facility’s staff about the rules in place. They often didn’t answer the phone. My therapist told me that I could call the membership office to sign up to use the therapeutic pool. No one ever called me back.Eventually, I canceled my monthly pass — I was told that I could purchase a day pass instead. One time I went with my daughter — there was no problem, and I was able to use the facility.On a very hot day, I took the bus for my second visit to do fitness. It turned out that I could not buy a day pass again because the rules were different and I no longer met the requirements, even though three days earlier I met them 100%. I have diabetes, bad back, and hip problems. I used to come to this center for therapy. No one thought to allow me to use the Club’s services this time. The rules prevailed.The website does not contain any information about using day passes or the general rules at the Center Club. Maybe there is a note about it somewhere, but I couldn’t find it. If you're looking for a full health-club (not simply a gym) look no further! Very relaxed/homey environment with all the amenities you can ask for - but mostly, unlike other clubs, we have an indoor track! :)

I recently had a terrible experience with the staff at this club. The workers were extremely rude, especially one short Russian woman who works in the evening. At 9:10 PM, when the gym’s posted closing time on Google was 10 PM, she rudely asked and pointed, “Clock no work?” and aggressively told me to leave. I had no idea they were closing early, as no one informed me that it was time to go. Instead, the staff just left the building without a word. This was a very unpleasant experience, and the attitude of that particular employee needs to be addressed. The staff could certainly benefit from improving their professionalism and respectfulness. I honestly didn’t know they were closing early, but the way I was treated was unacceptable. This club is NOT worth your hard-earned money as the gym is run down and staff needs a revamp.
