★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I agree with the other reviewer that "their facility is such a gift to the community."If you're for your new pilates studio, this is your choice. I highly highly highly recommend this outstanding pilates Studio, and particularly Carrie and Adriana. This studio stands out among others in the industry due to its unique approach to teaching pilates and the instructors' passion for pilates. Unlike other "Factory" style studios where large classes lead to limited individual attention, Balanced Bodies Studio offers smaller class sizes of students per class (at same price where there are 10+ ppl at other studios). With a smaller class, the instructors take the time to personally correct and guide each participant to ensure proper technique and form. Wit 20+ years of experience and a deep understanding of the mechanics behind each exercise, the instructors here are THE experts in their field. Their extensive knowledge, passion, and friendliness have made for a truly exceptional and effective pilates experience for me....I just have to say that I am extremely grateful to have this studio and instructors like Carrie and Adriana in my community and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch pilates practice. 100% recommend from the very bottom of my heart!!
April 30 · Chloe HerAdriana and Carrie are exceptional instructors. I have only ever taken classes from them (and not the other instructors who work for them), but I can only assume the rest of their team is top tier. I am a physical therapist (DPT, OCS) and can honestly say their knowledge of anatomy, cueing, and ability to assess and read the room, even in a group setting, is phenomenal. They are more skilled than most anyone I have seen in the exercise arena (regardless of credentials). When you walk into the facility, you can see a full body skeleton and anatomical diagrams on the wall. They take their education very seriously and are always taking courses to stay up-to-date on the latest evidence related to exercise. I have had interesting conversations with both Adriana and Carrie separately regarding their continuing education classes. Carrie voiced her interest in neuromotor connections with regards to reciprocal and autogenic inhibition and Adriana has been keeping up with the latest with Alzheimer’s disease from a neuromotor and environmental perspective. They have a passion that can light up a room! Their facility is such a gift to the community. When I first looked up their company, I thought that this was “too good to be true and a scam” because they are the cheapest option by far within the Northern VA area and they sound perfect. Instead, I found a community of people who care so much about quality of life through functional body-weight exercises that not only improves overall mobility but stability and overall posture. They do not read as a business “out to make money.” This is evident from the small number of reviews they have on Google (despite almost 20 years of experience). They care and value quality above all else. I have no connection to them other than being a paying customer, and can honestly say, they have restored my love for exercise and rehab. For the rehab patients out their searching for the next step, consider utilizing them as a resource once discharged from therapy. I am so happy to have them as a resource within my community.
July 28 · Julia SmithI bought groupon deal for classes. They shoudn't be posting groupons if they are not ready to respect groupons fully. Asked to pay $45 extra on top of what we already paid for groupon. Not recommended.EDIT: Responding to the owner below, Groupon was purchased over 2 months ago and I waited for reformer classes schedule for over a month and not one available. I think this was reasonable wait period. As for the relocation out of this area (something out of my hand), I was offered 1 reformer private session (in place of 5 group sessions) as substitute, but wasn't made aware of $45 additional fees on top of groupon I had already purchased (I should have asked). Overall, not a pleasant experience.
