Bala Gymnastics Introduce
For parents and individuals in Pennsylvania seeking a specialized and high-quality sports program, Bala Gymnastics stands out as a premier destination. Located in the welcoming community of Bala Cynwyd, this center offers a unique focus on **rhythmic gymnastics**. Unlike the more common artistic gymnastics, which features apparatus like the balance beam and vault, rhythmic gymnastics is a beautiful blend of traditional gymnastics, dance, and ballet. It utilizes apparatus such as the ribbon, ball, hoop, rope, and clubs, emphasizing grace, flexibility, and coordination. This focus makes Bala Gymnastics a distinct and valuable asset to the local sports scene, providing a specific type of training that helps young athletes develop a wide range of skills. It's an excellent choice for families in the Bala Cynwyd area and beyond who are looking for a program that is both disciplined and artistically expressive.
The studio has a reputation for a **no-frills approach to training**, which is a testament to its commitment to serious skill development. This means that even at the beginner level, students are introduced to conditioning exercises that prepare their bodies for the more complex, dance-like movements of rhythmic gymnastics routines. While this method may seem intense for very young children, it is designed to build a solid foundation for future growth. The coaches are known for being very supportive and encouraging, helping to create an environment where children can thrive and feel confident. This balance between structured training and a nurturing atmosphere is a key reason why many families choose Bala Gymnastics. It’s a place where children are not only taught the skills of the sport but are also instilled with a sense of discipline and a love for the art form. The competitive team, which can be seen training at various times, serves as a powerful source of inspiration for younger students, showcasing the potential for growth and mastery.
Bala Gymnastics is also recognized for its suitability for kids, making it a great option for parents looking to enroll their children in a positive and active program. The studio provides a comprehensive and professional environment where children can learn and grow, whether they are just beginning their gymnastics journey or are aiming for a competitive career. The focus is on preparing their bodies for performance while also teaching them dance, ballet, and hand-eye coordination. Bala Gymnastics Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Nice one basketball court size gym with hoops at each end with two half court hoops able to be set up as well. Has a men's and women's bathroom inside, and plenty of parking outside.
January 15 · Paul Curley, CFAOur eldest has been at Bala for 3 years now and our youngest just did her first class. As another review clarified, this is rhythmic gymnastics so you wouldn't see the same kind of apparatus or moves as artistic gymnastics. At Bala the beginners class consists of age-appropriate conditioning exercises that prepare their bodies to perform the dance-like moves in rhythmic gymnastics routines. During certain timings the competitive team can be seen on the other side of the gym performing far more challenging versions of these conditioning exercises. In that sense they do take a no-frills approach to training even at the beginner level, which may not be every child's cup of tea, especially 3 or 4 year olds. In spite of this, the coaches are very good with young kids and our 3yo told me to "go away next time" after her very first class. Having attended several competitions with our eldest, we realize that as coaches they are also very supportive and encouraging which we really appreciate.
March 01 · Stephanie LimOur child has been with Bala Gymnastics for nearly 10 years. Note to other commenter: this is rhythmic gymnastics and does not utilize the equipment you refer to. As a long-time participant this kind of thing can be difficult to judge but Bala certainly seems welcoming to new gymnasts and families.
April 16 · Brian WallaceI did not like this place, there is not a single piece of equipment for the children to train on, no pommel horse , no balance beam, no bars, no ropes. Nothing. My little one attended for 8 visits, each week they did the same thing. They did not perform any cartwheels. tumbling , flips, nothing. Essentially the time was spent stretching. Very disappointed.
