★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Solid*I came to this studio a little over two years ago because of intense chronic muscle pain in my lower back. My physical therapist at that time told me I needed to increase my spine mobility and strengthen my core. When I learned that Gyrotronics was a method of exercise focused on spine mobility that might help relive my pain, I was skeptical. I’d never heard of this method. But I tried it — and over the months I saw a change. My spine mobility did improve. My range of motion increased. I felt stronger and my pain decreased. Yes.I also, importantly, has been personal training, where I’ve worked extensively with kettlebells. Amazing. Challenging. Fun. The vibe is calm and friendly. Oza and Efe are talented professionals who will work with you to address your specific concerns. I’ve tried many therapies — and I mean many. Today my body is stronger and more balanced. And amazingly, I feel less pain, and I think that’s something to celebrate.
April 08 · mercareyI had my first gyrotonic session a month ago and I was shocked. I have been an athlete for more than 2 decades and struggle with my flexibility. I also struggle with strengthening non major muscles that you wouldn’t typically focus on in the gym, lifting weights. During this session I was able to achieve both those goals, improving my flexibility and strength, and it was surprisingly a bit challenging which I certainly appreciate. The owner is also very kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I was in New York on a visit, but I would certainly return when I am back in the area.
November 23 · Lolade OwokoniranI started doing Gyrotonic to help with strength and mobility and I have noticed a dramatic improvement, especially in my hips which tend to be a problem area for me. I’m not the most athletic or graceful person, but Efe is a kind, warm, patient and experienced instructor who makes me feel like I can do anything! When I leave after a session, I feel energized and like I just did something really, really good for my body. The studio is bright and clean. I’m grateful to have found Gyrotonic and Anwuli Ilegbe, I highly recommend this awesome studio!
September 12 · Laura DEfe is a miracle worker - totally trust her deep knowledge of anatomy and what is the right way to stretch and move for best results. Very attentive and sensitive to needs. Best ever personal trainer-type experience and gyro is no doubt amazing for anyone and everyone.
September 18 · Lauren McGrathFull disclosure, this is my sister's studio and growing business. With that out of the way, I had my first Gyrotonic session here 5/6/23 and it was a lovely experience, highly recommend. Even though the owner has been practicing and teaching the Gyrotonic method for years, I had never considered taking her up for a class initially. But now I work in healthcare and what I do requires standing a lot and sometimes weird positions so I finally asked her for a session. For my session we focused on my upper body and back and it felt so good! Not only did my spine and ribs feel lengthened it was also just a relaxing session that allows you to reconnect with your body. The best way I can describe it was a mix between vinyasa flow yoga and pilates, lots of intentional movement with breaths. I think it's worth trying and this is a small intimate studio in Harlem, you get personalized attention and very experienced hands. Totally worth it, even a couple days later now my body still feels good!
