In the charming town of Vergennes, Vermont, finding a dedicated fitness facility can be a challenge. Vermont Sun Fitness stands as the area’s sole gym, serving as a vital resource for residents committed to their health and wellness. This fitness center provides a range of services designed to help members achieve their goals, from strength and resistance training to personal coaching and group classes. While it may not be a sprawling, multi-story chain gym, Vermont Sun Fitness offers a convenient and accessible option for locals looking to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The community's response to Vermont Sun Fitness is mixed, reflecting a balance of appreciation and constructive criticism. Many members are simply happy to have a gym in the area. One satisfied customer shared, "Love this facility, the equipment works great and I’ve never found it to be too crowded. I really appreciate it being here since there are no other gyms in the area." This highlights the gym's primary value as a local institution, filling a critical need for fitness and recreation in Vergennes. For many, its very existence is a huge benefit, offering a place to train without the need to drive to another town.
However, other reviews point out areas where the gym could improve. Some feedback mentions that the facility is "not the most clean" and that "equipment is often left broken for a long time." Another review notes that the gym has become "overcrowded often, dirty, no AC, and poorly maintained." These comments suggest that while the gym is a vital local asset, the member experience can be inconsistent. The perception of value also varies, with one reviewer feeling that the cost was too high compared to what they had paid for more extensive facilities in a larger city like Boston. It's clear that prospective members should consider these factors and manage their expectations, balancing the convenience of a local gym against potential issues with maintenance and cleanliness.

August 20 · Mikayla RobinsonVery small in vergennes, only gym in the area. Not the most clean and equipment is often left broken for a long time. Should be cheaper, I paid significantly less in Boston for gym with more to offer.Originally left a 5 star review. But gym has become overcrowded often, dirty, no AC, and poorly maintained.
May 26 · Anna SalateDo not join this gym! Unfortunately due to a discounted membership to students, it’s over crowded and provides absolutely no support to its full membership. It’s sad to leave such a review but enough is enough. Students sitting on machines just talking and joking to inappropriate videos being made, if you are looking for a space to workout, this is not it. I am supportive of providing a space for young people but it’s simply unethical to charge any member more than the $10/month fee for planet fitness. Terrible! This is your warning…
May 23 · Ian McEwenIt’s insufferable. Between giving a $29.99 membership to every teenager in Vergennes and the rest of us who pay full membership. The place is easily over capacity. (And most of us Vergennes users aren’t even using the Middlebury site, what an overcharge).Don’t bother with this place unless you have no choice, like me. I hear Bristol has a nice gym. Check it out… might be better than this hellscape.
May 23 · Ellie DMiddlebury Fitness and Bristol gyms are far better then Vermont Sun. Better equipment and positive atmosphere — do not even give Vermont Sun in Vergennes a second thought. It is not worth it. The staff are negative, and want you to pay them every time you ask for help besides doing their on workout on their paid time. Midd Fitt will gladly help you anytime free of charge. There is no staff at the Vergennes Vermont Sun available during the time the high school students are there, even though members have asked for staff at that time. This fell on deaf ears.
