★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I tried a one month intro pass at Tiny Buddha Yoga and never looked back! I came to the studio pretty new to yoga and the teachers were open to answering my questions about class types, offered helpful suggestions to deepen and broaden my practice, and always welcomed me with a friendly smile. As time has gone on I have gotten to know other yogis at TBY and feel supported by the sense of community that has emerged from this space. TBY provides a place for you to rest, grow, build up your strength, and push yourself out of your comfort zone. While the regular schedule of class offerings is impressive in and of itself, the workshops are also fun and creative and offer different explorations of yoga. I have tried every type of regular class offered, private lessons, and yoga teacher training and have thoroughly enjoyed them all.At the Pauline studio, I particularly like how cozy it feels for yin restorative classes and the beautiful painted windows :)If you’re new to yoga and don’t know where to start, try out Tiny Buddha Yoga! And if you’re a seasoned yogi, I think you’ll be impressed!
March 12 · Carrie WixomTiny Buddha Yoga has changed my life! I’ve had 5 knee surgeries, the most recent being 10 years ago. In 10 years of PT, cycling, weight lifting and swimming, my bad knee has still never felt “right”. I began going to yoga regularly at TBY about 10 months ago. For the first time in 10 years, I am walking without discomfort! Whether it’s the strength work or flexibility work (or maybe a combination of both) that has helped, both are plentiful in TYB classes. I have enjoyed taking classes from all of the different instructors, and beyond the physical benefits I have received at TBY, I am continually impressed with the messages taught by the instructors during class, as well. Classes can be challenging (in a good way!), but all of the instructors are very encouraging. I have always felt very welcomed at TBY, despite being a yoga beginner! I can’t recommend Tiny Buddha Yoga enough!
April 29 · Amanda WantyBack in 2019, my boyfriend ordered classes for us via Groupon. He called ahead of time to ensure it was beginner friendly, as I had no previous knowledge or experience of yoga and was open to trying something new. The experience was horrible, the class was not beginner friendly- the instructor Risa walked around while telling us to get into specific positions. Since she didn’t demonstrate what each position looked like, I turned to my boyfriend and other students to get a general idea of what to do. She yelled at me to keep my eyes to myself over and over again. I broke down and started crying at one point, and almost walked out until my boyfriend asked me to stick through it. I was suffering from major depression, anxiety, and c-ptsd at the time, and I went in hoping for a relaxing, serene experience, but was instead further traumatized. I felt so vulnerable and humiliated. After the class was over, other students approached me on the way out to apologize for Risa saying that “she can be tough,” but that I didn’t deserve to be treated that way. My boyfriend also said he was looking around at other students because he didn’t know what he was doing either, and he didn’t get yelled at, scolded, or spoken to even once. I’ve spent the past few years finding my voice, so this is why I’m posting this now. I no longer live in Ann Arbor, but I’ve still felt too traumatized to try yoga again because of this experience. Thank you for reading.
April 17 · Rose LeWhat I love most about the Tiny Buddha Yoga community is the welcoming atmosphere. Risa and the teachers make every student feel welcome, no matter what. The classes are breath focused and challenging, both mentally and physically, but there are classes for every amount of experience and students are able to work to their ability and comfort level. I can't recommend TBY enough!
November 08 · Maureen O'BrienI'm incredibly grateful to have discovered Tiny Buddha. After returning back to Michigan for a month after many years of living out of state, and in a season of transformation, I needed to reconnect with my inner spark, and Tiny Buddha was instrumental in that journey. Every teacher I had was exceptional and truly knew how to create a supportive space. Even now, a week after my last class and being back across the country, the impact of this studio is still profound. Thank you!!!!
