For fitness enthusiasts and beginners in Easton, Pennsylvania, and the wider Lehigh Valley, Test Your Metal Fitness & Performance, also known as CrossFit Advanced, offers a unique alternative to the conventional gym experience. This facility is built on the philosophy that fitness is not a solitary pursuit but a community effort. Instead of just providing equipment, the gym offers a range of coach-led classes and training programs that foster a supportive and motivating environment. The gym’s core is centered on functional fitness and strength and conditioning, which includes a blend of weightlifting, gymnastics, and high-intensity workouts. This approach helps members build a foundation of strength and skills that are directly applicable to everyday life. One member’s review perfectly captures this essence, stating that the gym "will probably be the only one too" they ever go to, praising the owners and coaches for making the place "feel like a family."
The gym's atmosphere is a key component of its appeal. The community is described as welcoming and inclusive, with members who cheer each other on and ensure no one feels "left behind." This is a place where camaraderie thrives, and victories are shared. The gym also hosts competitions throughout the year for members who wish to participate, adding a fun and competitive element to the training. The fact that a member who took a year off returned and found the place to be "still the same great place" with "welcoming" people and "fun" classes is a powerful testament to the consistency and strength of the community. For those who are new to fitness or have been intimidated by other gyms, this environment can make all the difference, providing the encouragement needed to stay consistent and achieve long-term results.

September 14 · Sky JBe careful when attending programs at this gym. I tore my muscle in my chest and armwhile doing one of the work outs that they recommended during one of the classes. Their trainers do start off with a warm up which is great but they don’t seem to have a program structured to assess your fitness ability at the outset and tailor your workouts according to your ability. While conducting research I discovered that a good CrossFit gym does an initial assessment of each new member, rating their abilities on 15 categories of fitness, before assigning them to 1 of 6 levels in its training program. I never was put through an assessment to rate my ability. The trainers here do pressure you to increase your weight through each set however you are on your own to determine what weight is safe for you and they seem to be use to working with experienced weight lifters so they won’t really help you to determine a safe lifting weight for the individual. So, if you’re an experienced weight lifter this may be a gym for you, but if you’re a beginner, Test your metal, in my opinion is not a safe establishment. It seems like they are very money motivated. They try to gain as much members as possible without caring for each individual members’ safety. It also has old workout equipment and the facility and staff really needs an overhaul to bring it up to speed. Attaching a picture of my injury as well.
December 14 · Jesse TThis gym is awesome! I have met some of the nicest people in the world at this gym. They really have established a welcoming environment. The coaches are very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. There are people here at all levels of fitness and age range which makes it great for beginners or experienced competitors. I have been a member for a little over a year now and it just keeps getting better. They really invest in making it a great place to workout. There is something new that gets added every year. I didn’t really appreciate how great it was until I went to other CrossFit gyms in the area to compete. I quickly became grateful for the big spacious rooms and all the equipment we have at CFA. Love Love Love CFA!
April 02 · Davean HosangFound this gym when I moved to the area a few years ago and have become a regular member. Highly recommend for people traveling to the Lehigh Valley for business, those new to the area, or anyone who wants to get into Crossfit! The variety of class times is helpful for a busy schedule - especially the 5 a.m. class offering. Coaches and members are super friendly. Definitely recommend!
