Family Membership Nuances: While the concept of family membership is a major draw, some customer feedback suggests that certain activities, particularly during peak seasons like summer, might have limitations. This is an important consideration for families looking to join, and it's recommended to inquire about specific program schedules to ensure they align with your family's needs.
These features, both the highlights and the areas for improvement, provide a clear picture of what to expect at the Sussex County YMCA.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It’s a good gym, a good amount of equipment in pretty good shape. Pool, recovery rooms, good staff. My only complaint is that the stretching area isn’t padded??? It’s a very odd choice to use the extremely small mats that they provide. I’m taller than most people, I’m over 6 feet and I’m a giant compared to them, so it makes stretching and calisthenics hard. Other than that, solid gym
August 07 · Edward KoenigI wanted to do family membership during the summer. The lady who showed me the place and tried to help me couldn't find any activity for us besides swimming after certain hours.i am a mother with 8,6, 3 years old and 3 months old.And I have to be in the water with my 8,6,3 years ago, who is going to watch my Little 3 months old???? Why I do have to be in the water if they have 2 lifeguards. " It's like doing family membership but don't do it"It's sad that family membership doesn't allow you to have activities during the summer.
July 31 · Areeg NasserCustomer service is horrible. They are super nice to your face and will take your money but the second you tell them they made a mistake and they need to refund you **CRICKETS** They tell you to email someone else or they transfer you to someone that doesn't answer their phone. (multiple people) You can leave messages all you want and no one gets back to you. You can't even talk to the financial person. That's not allowed so everything the financial department hears is 2nd hand and we all know how the game of telephone works. If this place wasn't a monopoly in my area for before and after care. I would go somewhere else and save myself $7,000 (and growing) a year for just the before and after care, this doesn't include the $3,000+ for the camp. Before this year I had no issues between the school year and camp. Not one problem. This year for camp they have been over charging me for about 4 weeks claim they are going to fix it and then the next week comes and I am still getting over charged. I have called and left messages, sent emails and even walked in there only to get another phone number to call that no one answers or probably listens to the messages.
July 30 · Gabriella DThe staff is absolutely the best part. The childcare staff that my kids love, the front desk ladies that are always friendly, my wife’s trainer is always flexible with her crazy schedule, the swim instructors are amazing with our kids, the custodian that clearly takes pride in what he does, and I’m sure there are more that I’m forgetting or work hard behind the scenes. I’m really happy to have a place like the Y in our town.
January 25 · Justin C.The instructors were patient, kind, respectful and knowledgeable. They helped my children overcome their fear of water to become comfortable in the water and swimmers.
