SAA Cheer House Introduce
### Introduction / Overview
For families and young athletes across the Illinois region looking for a structured, dedicated environment to pursue cheerleading and tumbling, the **SAA Cheer House** in Schaumburg serves as the premier indoor training facility. Far from being a general-purpose fitness center, the SAA Cheer House is the official home of the **Schaumburg Athletic Association (SAA) Cheerleading Program**, a cornerstone of youth athletics in the area.
The Schaumburg Athletic Association, established in 1960, is a highly respected, not-for-profit volunteer organization committed to empowering young people. The mission of the Cheer Program directly reflects this commitment: to help foster sportsmanship, teamwork, development, and self-confidence in a fun, safe, and skill-focused environment.
The facility itself—the SAA Cheer House—functions as a specialized gym where cheer athletes, both girls and boys, learn and perfect the essential elements of the sport: stunting, tumbling, jumping, and dancing. The program is designed for new and returning participants alike, from Pre-K through middle school grades, emphasizing commitment, community involvement, and the drive for excellence that comes with competitive team sport. While experiences vary, the overarching organization is built on dedication, with coaches and board members striving to deliver a top-quality, supportive experience for every athlete involved.
### Location and Accessibility
The SAA Cheer House is strategically located to serve the families of Schaumburg and the broader northwest suburban communities of Illinois, providing a dedicated space away from the distractions of a general sports complex.
The facility is located at: **1072 National Pkwy, Schaumburg, IL 60173, USA**.
Its location on National Parkway makes it easily reachable for parents driving to and from practice sessions across the area. Given that the SAA Cheer House is a dedicated training space for youth athletes, the facility is designed to be accessible and convenient for all members of the community.
- **Wheelchair accessible entrance:** Ensures ease of access for all visitors, including parents, athletes, and spectators.
- **Wheelchair accessible parking lot:** Provides necessary, convenient parking close to the building.
- **Restroom:** Clean and available facilities for use during training sessions.
As a structured youth athletic program, participation requires a membership commitment, typically aligning with the full cheer season. Registration information, payment plans, and specific deadlines are managed by the SAA Cheer Board and are released annually to ensure parents can plan ahead for the competition or sideline seasons.
### Services Offered
The SAA Cheer House supports a variety of programs tailored to different commitment levels, age groups, and skill goals. The focus is always on skill development, physical fitness, and teamwork, influencing participants to be more active in the broader youth sports community.
- **SAA Competition Cheer:** This is the highest commitment tier, with the season typically running from May/June through the Illinois Cheer Association (ICA) State Championship in November. Athletes practice a minimum of two to three times a week and compete in various regional and in-state competitions, developing advanced stunting, tumbling, and team performance skills.
- **SAA Sideline Cheer:** Focused on supporting SAA Youth Football teams, this program requires a lower time commitment (1-2 practices weekly). Athletes learn basic stunting, jumps, cheers, and half-time routines. This division is non-competitive but participates in all community events, offering an excellent foundation for new participants.
- **Developmental Cheerleading Program:** Specifically designed for younger athletes (Pre-K through 2nd grade). These classes focus on establishing strong foundational skills in stunting, tumbling, jumping, and dancing/motions in a fun, structured team atmosphere, preparing them for more competitive levels.
- **Tumbling and Stunting Instruction:** Throughout all programs, the indoor facility is utilized for concentrated work on individual skills such as tumbling passes and group stunting. Instruction is led by qualified, trained coaches committed to teaching techniques safely and correctly.
- **Community Engagement and Performance:** Both programs include performances at SAA football games, participation in community service events, fundraising activities (like the SAA Car Wash), and the high-profile annual Schaumburg Labor Day parade.
### Features / Highlights
The SAA Cheer House offers unique highlights that make it a compelling choice for parents and athletes in the Illinois youth sports scene:
- **Rooted in Community and Longevity:** The program is backed by the Schaumburg Athletic Association, an organization operating for decades, ensuring stability, structure, and a deep connection to the local community. It is fundamentally a youth development program, not a commercial enterprise.
- **Safety-First Coaching:** The organization places high importance on athlete safety. Coaches are trained, and the Cheer Director is certified on behalf of the USA Cheer Association, ensuring that all practices and guidelines are modern, safe, and focused on injury prevention.
- **Focus on Holistic Development:** Beyond physical skills, the program actively works to develop positive life skills such as **Leadership, Teamwork, Commitment, Motivation, and positive Self-Esteem**, fulfilling the SAA’s core mission of developing the whole child.
- **Structured, Transparent Seasons:** The Competition and Sideline programs run on clear, established timelines with announced registration windows, defined fees (e.g., Competition Cheer registration includes t-shirt, banquet admission, and competitions), and final refund dates, providing necessary transparency to parents.
- **Proven Competitive Success:** SAA Cheer has a long tradition of successful performances, frequently achieving state championship titles and qualifying teams for high-level events, demonstrating the quality and effectiveness of the training provided at the Cheer House.

### What is Worth Choosing
Choosing the SAA Cheer House and its associated program is an excellent decision for Illinois parents seeking a high-quality, non-profit youth sports experience over a commercial gym. While some isolated negative experiences may occur in any large, volunteer-driven organization, the overall structure, mission, and longevity of the Schaumburg Athletic Association demonstrate a profound commitment to the positive development of young athletes.
Parents choosing SAA Cheer are investing in an organization that has a clear objective: to develop confident, skilled, and community-minded individuals. The structured nature of the programs, the USA Cheer certification for safety, and the dual-track of Competition and Sideline teams ensure that every child—whether a beginner or an advanced tumbler—has a place to develop.
The SAA Cheer House offers not just a gym, but a place where athletes develop physical skills like dexterity and strength, and forge what the organization hopes will be "a friendship of sisterly bond for a lifetime," all while proudly representing the Schaumburg community at games, parades, and state competitions. For those prioritizing an organization with deep community roots and a mission focused on youth empowerment, SAA Cheer House is the definitive choice.

SAA Cheer House Reviews
Do not send your children here what a toxic place. They don’t care about parents concerns. If your child is new they will pay her no attention, put her all the way in the back and ignore her. These people yelled at me when I brought my concerns up as a concerned mother. Very unprofessional and unsafe place. My daughter didn’t enjoy it at ll. We were hoping for a good experience. What a disappointment!
