Mysore Classes: The cornerstone of the studio's offerings are its Mysore-style classes, which are available on weekday and Saturday mornings. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We spent a couple nights in Richmond on a little girls getaway. Robbie gave a wonderful first time yoga class (private) for myself and my mother in law who has never done yoga before. Although she was worried she would be intimidated, Robbie was very warm and welcoming from the start, and went slow in teaching us the poses at a pace she was comfortable with. All in all it was a very positive experience and we definitely recommend this place to any yogis out there.

April 02 · Jessica AllosseryI have been attending richmond city yoga for almost half a year and it has been an incredible experience. Robbie is a welcoming experienced teacher who cares about teaching you the practice and meeting you where you are at. There is a small community of regular yoga practitioners who are all very kind, warm and inviting. Both the 6:00 am Mysore and 9:30 am guided practice are excellent for both beginners like myself and individuals who have been practicing for years. I recommend this studio for anyone looking to get into a routine that will improve all aspects of health.

August 19 · Charlie HurdI wandered into RCY while in town visiting my parents, and it was definitely the most enjoyable and nourishing part of my RVA trip! I've been practicing ashtanga for a little over 5 years and traveling full-time since 2022 so I drop into a lot of ashtanga studios all over the world. I've learned that the attitudes of the other students/practitioners are often an accurate reflection of the shala itself. The community Robbie has fostered is incredibly warm and welcoming, and shares a common passion for the practice. Robbie's expert assists felt amazing after my many weeks of solo practice, and I especially appreciated his open communication and questions about past injuries and my preferences when being assisted. That is not something you find in every ashtanga teacher. Robbie is very knowledgeable yet humble and holds a supportive space for people to grow in their practice. While not a beginner myself, I'm confident Robbie would make an excellent and trustworthy teacher for anyone reading this who may be new to ashtanga yoga. I also had the pleasure of attending Friday led primary which was a real treat. I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in town!

September 20 · Stacey ScottI have been going to Robbie’s studio for about a month now and it has been so transformative for me. I have never felt better physically or mentally. He is so encouraging and I didn’t feel like a lost beginner walking into the studio. It is a welcoming and positive environment were you are encouraged to start wherever you are and grow from there. I would recommend Robbie and Richmond City Yoga to anyone who is even slightly interested in yoga, I was hooked the first day.
