★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My college age daughter and I took the Mon 7a class w Wendy and we loved her teaching.I have a fair amount of yoga experience but my daughter is more of a newbie. We both found W easy to follow and enjoyed the options she used w blocks and variations of challenge. She took the time to welcome us when we arrived and to check in w us at the end.She clearly knew her regulars by name but did not favor them with her attention.Enjoyed the hands on adjustments - not too much - sporadic and gentle. The studio space is inviting, though I do recommend layers bc I was chilly from an air vent. And I thought parking would be an issue, but I’ve been to the studio three times now and found free street parking easily at 7a, at 9a and at noon. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
January 01 · Kate FinamoreI have a total “girl crush” on yoga instructor extraordinaire Felicia Taliaferro 🧘🏾♀️ I’ve practiced with her at 3 different studios since I moved back to the East Coast in March and she just radiates joy and enthusiasm! Her “geeky” 🤓 knowledge of anatomy and passion for people is awesome! Really enjoyed flowing with her at Refresh Yoga Center in Old Town, VA.
December 11 · Sanyika CallowayThey moved locations to 1011 King St, Alexandria. Updating my review because they seemed open to updating their information and were nice about letting me join the class late (I walked from the old location to the new location). I kept one star off because they don’t have any updated signage at their old location stating that they’ve moved and they didn’t update their voicemail message or answer their phone when I tried calling them, but hopefully they update their signage at their old location soon! They moved the first week of September 2022. When I was walking around their old location trying to figure out how to get in, the ice cream store associate next to the old location explained that another person had gotten lost as well, so this is a problem affecting multiple people.Edit: Updating review to 5 stars because they changed their information on google and because their yoga classes are really great.
January 31 · Emily CThis is a welcoming yoga and martial arts studio in a great location—I was worried about parking but it’s actually never been an issue ! They have pretty sky lights and so far all the yoga instructors I’ve taken classes from have been excellent. My friends husband goes to martial arts here too. I’m trying to get back into my yoga practice and this is the place to do it! I live 20 minutes away and still find old town delightful—especially this end of King Street has some great quirky shops and restaurants and galleries to see after. refreshing yoga here!
February 04 · gioia chiltonRefresh is such a welcoming, inviting space! I got a ClassPass and ended up using all my credits to attend because from my first class to my fourth class, I was enthralled by the studio's environment. The instructors have varying practices, but I love that the common theme is a focus on breath work. Each class I've joined has been intuitive enough for complete beginners like myself but adaptable enough that more experienced folks can feel stretched and challenged as well. Refresh, thanks for getting me back into fitness and helping me connect with my body!
