Orangetheory Fitness Introduce
For residents of Illinois, finding a gym that offers more than just a place to work out is a significant goal. It's about finding a community that motivates, a program that gets results, and a space that feels like a second home. Orangetheory Fitness in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood checks all these boxes and more. This studio has earned a reputation as a gem within the Orangetheory system, praised by both its members and visitors from other locations for its fantastic staff, encouraging instructors, and state-of-the-art facility. It's an ideal choice for anyone in the Chicago area looking to make a meaningful and lasting change to their health and wellness.
Orangetheory's unique, science-backed approach to fitness is a major draw for many. Their one-hour, full-body workout is designed to deliver maximum results by blending cardiovascular training on treadmills and water rowers with strength training exercises. The core of the workout is its heart-rate-based interval training, which guides participants through five different heart rate zones. The goal is to spend 12-20 minutes in the "Orange Zone" to achieve Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC), which helps your body continue to burn calories for up to 36 hours after the workout. This data-driven approach, combined with the guidance of a certified coach, provides a highly personalized experience within a group setting, ensuring that you're always training effectively and safely.
What truly sets this specific location apart, according to local reviews, is the vibrant and welcoming community. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Love this Orange Theory studio. Staff friendly, instructors encouraging and facility a gem. Have visited 10+ studios in the system and this may be in the top 10 percent. Towels available and treadmills-equipment are up-to-date. Dropped 15 pounds after 6 months. The transformation is real...
August 04 · Carl KallenOTF Lincoln park has easily become my new favorite workout. The coaches and staff are fantastic and truly go out of their way to know their members and make the workouts fun. They host fun happy hours and themed workouts that bring variety and keep it fun! Happy I found a great place to work out indoors during the cool winter months too. Can’t say enough great things about this studio!
March 28 · Brianna LarkinThey slapped me w/ a surcharge of $10 because I was coming from out of state, and my membership is cheaper. This is 2nd time it's happened in Chicago area. Starting to hate the OrangeTheory gyms here. Every time I attend a class here at any studio, that's $10 down the drain.I just told them straight up, it's not my fault that my membership rate is that much cheaper. It's not my fault that your guys rate is like $220/mo, which is frankly insane. I think I would shoot myself in the head if I had to pay that much. OFC I did not say that last part.Their response to my "not my fault everything is expensive in Chicago area, this is 2nd time I am charged for attending a class" was a straight up, "talk to the hand, we don't care." More or less that is how they chose to respond.I'm not sure in what world I pay over $150/month, that is over $1,800 per year, for membership at OrangeTheory Fitness -- which is frankly insane for any gym membership -- and *still* am forced to give up my credit card as payment for booking a Tread50 class, and slapped with a surcharge of $10 or more.Like I said this is the 2nd time, total is racking up past $20, and after tomorrow it will be $30 down the drain at least. I have to do Tread50 every day too for the miles, because Marathon Month (MM) is winding down, and the closest gym has T50 classes at an inconvenient time sometimes. In short, I certainly don't enjoy flushing my hard-earned money down the drain & "donating it" to OrangeTheory studios in the Chicago area, as I'm just visiting family here. I already pay close to $2K a year to OTF, and it's kinda unfair to ask more on top of that. It's not my fault your membership rates are thru the roof. Adjust your damn rates. Your members are probably nodding their head and cringing at what they have to pay on monthly basis. For shame!
August 27 · Ritvik NagLove my studio! Viv is amazing and always so sweet. The coaches are great and a good class schedule.
December 22 · alison freeOne of the best fitness facilities in the area! I have been a member here for over a year now and love every class. The staff and coaches are amazing and always encouraging! This location also has newer equipment and the absolute best treadmills I have ever used.
