The moment you step inside, you'll feel the historic charm of the building, with its "big, oversized windows" and a sense of serenity that invites you to leave the outside world behind. The studio has created an environment where "you'll just know it's right" from the moment you walk in. This commitment to kindness and belonging is what helps new students feel they "didn't belong at certain studios."
Beyond the atmosphere, Namaste Yoga Center offers a comprehensive range of yoga styles and programs, from traditional practices to specialized sessions like prenatal and restorative yoga. The center prides itself on being a resource for all stages of life and all levels of practice, a fact appreciated by a new mom who found the prenatal yoga class relaxing and perfect for her "3rd trimester body." ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I joined Trishna's June prenatal yoga session and had a fantastic time. As a new mom herself, she's very understanding of both the physical and mental needs of her students. Her class is relaxing and felt great on my 3rd trimester body! Highly recommend to any expectant mamas.
June 23 · Meghan BoschI'm a teacher at Namaste but I'm also a student. I began practicing at Namaste over 12 years ago and consider it my yoga home. I felt drawn to the studio for the building's historic charm and big, oversized windows. I returned for the array of kind and generous teachers and staff, all as welcoming as the next. I remember wanting to study yoga but didn't know where to start or felt like I didn't belong at certain studios. When you come in, you'll just know it's right.
October 13 · YogiStonedWelcoming community for all skill levels with a great variety & wonderful instructors. Have been happy with every class I have attended!!! My favorite class is the Somatic Yoga one on Tuesdays!!!!
May 14 · Monica MDFull disclosure, I did my yoga teacher training at Namaste and I teach on the schedule regularly. That being said, I can share my experience as a student for in-person and virtual classes and the reiki services offered by Rachele Rose.THE STUDIO: Safe parking lot with ample spaces, two private bathrooms/ changing rooms, comfortable entrance/lobby area, beautiful studio space to practice in, tons of propsREIKI: I highly recommend Rachele Rose. She provided me with a session that helped me find clarity and wholeness. The best way I can describe it is that it was like peeling off a layer of armor, which let more love and clarity in. The music and scents were delightful and Rachele was very professional and skilled at her craft.CLASSES: I love to visit the studio when I can, and there are virtual offerings too for those days when you don't want to leave the house. I like that it isn't a "hot yoga" studio. Most of the classes are hatha-based, though there is a good variety on the schedule.
March 15 · Rachel RedmondI want to leave the best review possible because I only went to this place once and although it wasn’t for me, it might be what other people want.I’m very stoic so I’m not really into the whole spiritual aspect of yoga, I’m just there for the fitness and health benefits. This place was very “hippie dippie” for lack of a better description. Which I probably should’ve read between the lines given they’re in downtown Royal Oak and the name of it is “Namaste” but oh well lesson learned. Quoting Buddhist poetry and being surrounded by people searching for their inner peace is just not for me. Also the other reviews are correct that it is very overcrowded. They only have one room so it felt like whoever showed up they just squeezed in where they could instead of turning people away when a maximum capacity is reached.I do wanna say that the actual yoga instruction was very good and the instructor was knowledgeable. She walked around the room and would quietly try to correct or help anyone she could. The routine went with what you expected for “better backs” or whatever you sign up for. I felt great after, the environment was just weird and not for me.
