For parents in the Fenton, Missouri region, finding a gym that nurtures a child's athletic potential and confidence is a top priority. Mid-America Gymnastics Academy is a facility that specializes in gymnastics and tumbling, providing a dedicated space for young athletes to develop their skills. Unlike traditional fitness centers, this gym is a specialized training ground, equipped to support children from their very first forward roll to advanced competitive routines. For families in the Missouri area, this academy presents an opportunity for children to engage in a structured and challenging sport that builds strength, coordination, and discipline. The environment here is geared toward the unique needs of gymnasts and tumblers, with specialized equipment and a program designed to foster growth at every level.
The focus of Mid-America Gymnastics Academy is on the progression of its young athletes. The gym is dedicated to providing a platform for children to not only learn gymnastics but also to grow in a competitive environment if they choose to. The curriculum is built to help gymnasts develop skills week after week, with an emphasis on technique and form. The goal is to provide a structured path for both recreational and competitive athletes, giving every child the tools they need to succeed in the sport.
However, it is important for families to be aware of the experiences of other patrons. Based on customer feedback, some families have had negative experiences with the gym’s management and communication. One review mentions a perceived lack of professional communication and a feeling of being valued only as a "tuition payment," which led to a family leaving the gym. This customer also described difficulties with receiving a refund for ordered items after leaving the program, despite multiple attempts at contact. Another review echoed these concerns, mentioning a feeling of being "unsupported" by the owner regarding a child's injury and questioning whether the owner had the child's best interest in mind. These reviews suggest that while the gym may offer specialized training, there may be challenges with the management style and communication, which is a significant factor for families to consider when choosing a long-term gym.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I would not recommend this gym. We found the owner, Scott, to be unkind and unprofessional with some serious communication problems. If your child is one of their top performing gymnasts they will get individualized attention and you, as a parent, will likely get a warmer than average welcome. The more likely outcome will be that you will be ignored and valued as a tuition payment only. After witnessing the growing pains of opening this new gym and our daughter feeling less comfortable within this new environment and losing an interest in competing, we decided to leave. We were off-sides on this because we had already made a payment to them for the competition season's leo and pullover. After 4 months of asking for what we had ordered or to be reimbursed, we have received neither. We know of at least one other family who has been treated in the same way.Although we were unsatisfied with Mid America when we left, we wished them the best and we were open to one day possibly returning if our daughter wanted to down the road. After how unprofessionally we have been treated since leaving, we will never return and we will advise all that we know within the Fenton community to choose the other gyms around for their children. You may be able to get by for a while at this gym but eventually there will be an issue that you will need to discuss with Scott and he will be slow to respond and when you get a response, you will be left wanting. Ultimately, Scott and his head coach, did not foster a vibe within the gym that was warm or welcoming for our family and they seemed to be making up ways of extracting more and more money from the families. We had a sneaking suspicion that there were better options out there and since leaving we have found out that we were right.
January 22 · Bill TellerWhen my daughter was recovering from an injury I was encouraged by Scott to just get her cleared by the doctor and get back practicing so she would be ready for the first meet of the season. This interaction with the owner Scott made me feel unsupported and made me question whether he had my daughter's best interest in mind. And breaking news! This gym was formed in large part in a strong-armed, swindling fashion, breaking off from another gym. Overall, our experience was one of a lack of communication. I could tell several stories here on how we felt unheard, disconnected and unsupported. Instead, I will just say beware.
January 24 · Katie TellerIncredibly unprofessional owner and select coaches. Not all. Owner actually stands out back and smokes in between spotting girls on the bars! Unbelievable! I voiced safety and other concerns for my daughter multiple times and was completely ignored. Like not even a text or email back. Blows my mind this is how his business is run! Please find another gym with coaches who don’t play favorites, call you when/if your child is injured, and have some type of basic communication skills and professionalism.
January 22 · Erica HallstenI have seen childish related issues. They know that a couple of years back, COVID hit St. Louis and while the management might not be as professional as it should, does not mean people can stoop to their level. Many gyms are short on staff just like everybody else. People need to stop and think that what if the owner may have lost a friend or two due to the virus.
