LA Fitness Introduce
In the expansive and diverse landscape of Southern California, finding a gym that meets all your needs is key to a consistent and successful fitness journey. For residents of Cerritos and the surrounding areas,
LA Fitness
on Alondra Boulevard offers a vast and multi-faceted gym experience. This facility is more than just a space for lifting weights; it's a comprehensive health club designed to provide a wide range of fitness options under one roof. With amenities that cater to various interests—from individual training to group sports and aquatic activities—it serves as a hub for a dynamic and diverse community. This article will provide a detailed overview of what makes this particular LA Fitness location a popular choice for local users in the California region, highlighting its extensive offerings and the unique experience it provides to its members. The philosophy of LA Fitness is to provide a comprehensive and convenient fitness solution. The gym aims to be a one-stop-shop for all your health and wellness needs, with a broad selection of equipment, classes, and amenities. However, like any large and popular gym, it faces operational challenges. A customer review highlighted some issues, noting that "sanitizing wipes" can run out and that "dumbbell racks always a mess." This feedback points to the need for better gym etiquette from members and more attentive management to ensure a consistently tidy environment. Despite these issues, the gym's comprehensive offerings remain a significant draw. A separate customer review raised concerns about the reduction of racquetball courts and the removal of basketball courts at a local park. While these are separate issues, it reflects the broader conversation happening in the community about access to different types of recreational spaces for various groups. The review stated that these changes at LA Fitness and at a local park created the "impression that facilities used by minorities are being removed and replaced with activities that cater to a different demographic." The city of Cerritos has a population of 48,340 people, of which Asian (Non-Hispanic) residents make up the largest ethnic group at 61.6% (29,800 people). This is followed by White (Non-Hispanic) residents at 11.8% (5,680 people) and Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) residents at 6.5% (3,140 people). The Hispanic population in Cerritos is about 15.0%, or approximately 7,200 people. While the gym provides a basketball court and other amenities, these community conversations reflect the ongoing importance of ensuring access to a wide variety of sports for all members.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I shouldn't be surprised at another LA fitness is woefully substandard. There are only two stations with sanitizing wipes and they regularly run out, currently there are none. Dumbbell rack is always a mess, customers can't seem to figure out how to put weights back in their proper place and staff and management won't help. I have complained multiple times about the fact that they have incorrect labels for the dumbbells, meaning they have marked spaces for two sets of 105s 110s 115s 120 is 125 but only one set of each in the entire gym and they also don't have enough spots for 25s, 30s and 35s, even with asking staff multiple times to just relabel the weights so maybe people will put them back in that place. Staff is too lazy to do a damn thing about it. Sad so many gym goers lack any semblance of gym etiquette and staff and management are too lazy to try to help the situation.
September 09 · Cory EdwardsThis feels discriminatory. Cerritos has shown a pattern that raises serious concerns. At this gym, racquetball courts were reduced from three to just one in a short period of time. In my opinion, this decision disproportionately impacts Black and Latino members, who make up most of the players. Similarly, Liberty Park in Cerritos removed its basketball courts—again, widely used by minority communities—and replaced them with pickleball courts. These changes create the impression that facilities used by minorities are being removed and replaced with activities that cater to a different demographic. This is unfair and unacceptable. LA Fitness on Alondra has plenty of space to add Pilates without taking away existing courts. Decisions like these should not come at the expense of minority members’ access to sports they value.
August 28 · MickyI’ve had such a great experience here at LA Fitness! The club continues to improve every time I come in. Today during my workout I got to see the Pilates reformer machines arriving and being installed in the new studio, which is so exciting! It’s clear that management, with Juan and Steven leading the way, are truly focused on creating a better experience for members. Their leadership and dedication show in the way the club keeps growing and offering more. Can’t wait to try out the new Pilates studio!
August 19 · Junior AIt does the job, but barely. Last summer the entire AC was out. This summer the racquetball / handball AC is out in the one court there is. $99 a month pilates court has been under construction for 4 months. Machines are dated and missing parts.
July 24 · Chad MillikanJust moved to the area from Costa Mesa and this gym feels and looks gross...how is it that an Esporta in Fountain Valley is cleaner than an LA Fitness. Isn't LA Fitness supposed to be more expensive than Esporta?! The equipment is old, the benches are ripping, the AC is not working and if it is working, it's as if it's not even on...do better LA Fitness
