What is worth choosing
Choosing a gym is a significant decision, and for those in the Midlothian, Virginia area, Gold's Gym presents itself as an option with a wide array of services. It's important to consider all factors when making a choice that aligns with your personal fitness goals and preferences. The gym offers a diverse range of on-site services, from personal training and youth classes to amenities like Hydromassage and a pro shop. The availability of multiple workout styles, including aerobics, Zumba, and various forms of strength and functional training, means that members have many options to keep their routine fresh and engaging. The facility is also noted for its cleanliness, with a customer review mentioning that the "Locker room and bathroom was clean," which is a key factor for a comfortable workout environment. However, some reviews also highlight certain aspects that potential members should be aware of. One review noted that the location might feel "somewhat small for the area" and that some amenities, like the massage chair, have "glitches." Another significant point raised in a review is the gym's culture. A customer expressed that the environment felt more like a "social hangout than a gym," with a lack of gym etiquette and a "judgmental, self-righteous culture." This review also detailed an experience with unprofessional management and a feeling of being targeted, which led to a "horrible, disgusting experience." The customer also mentioned a sign threatening membership suspension for not re-racking equipment, which was perceived as a negative and unwelcoming approach. While the gym may offer good equipment and services, these reviews suggest that the social environment and management style may not be for everyone. If you prioritize a focused, respectful, and non-social workout environment, it may be beneficial to visit the gym and observe the atmosphere before committing to a membership. The choice ultimately depends on what you value most in a gym—whether it's the variety of services and amenities or the overall culture and sense of community. It’s always best to get a firsthand impression to see if the gym’s environment aligns with your personal expectations for a positive and productive workout experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm in town temporarily for work and chose this gym because it's close to my apartment. Big mistake. While the facility and equipment are actually pretty good, the environment is absolutely terrible. If you're someone who likes to come in, focus on your workout, and leave — don't waste your time here. This place is more of a social hangout than a gym. People stand around talking, taking up space and equipment, with zero gym etiquette. Some people are very disrespectful as well and will pretend you don’t exist and taunt you while you’re waiting for equipment to open up or intentionally getting in your path when walking to get dumbbells. If you're serious about fitness, expect to be treated like you’re the problem. To make matters worse, I was threatened with violence by another member. I reported the incident, and new management did absolutely nothing. Not even after a conversation. Apparently, if someone harasses or threatens you, you're expected to just deal with it — especially if you're fit and not part of the little social clique that runs the place. And yes, there is definitely a judgmental, self-righteous culture here that seems to take pride in it. I was targeted for how I dressed and what I represent by some hostile members — all because I don't fit their preferred narrative. The new manager was accusatory, dismissive, and completely unwilling to hear my side. Instead, he played mental gymnastics to make it seem like I was the issue. Totally unprofessional and spineless. I was also told to “Figure it out.” about my refund in a very disrespectful and snarky manner. I will be reporting this to the corporate office.Bottom line: this gym might have decent equipment, but the toxic, petty, and frankly hostile culture makes it not worth your time. If you value respect, safety, and a focused workout environment — steer clear. Horrible, disgusting experience.
August 19 · Thraxxworld FitnessGood customer service and parking wasn’t bad but location is somewhat small for the are and doesn’t offer much to be desired. Massage chair has glitches and only one. Locker room and bathroom was clean but I felt like if they knocked down a wall, I would have given them a better review. Also, there is a sign threatening to suspend or terminate membership if you don’t rerack equipment. I don’t like the threat. A reminder is one thing as most understand the courtesy but a threat doesn’t feel good to see at a place where you pay membership fees
August 01 · Spencer GorleyWasn’t expecting to much from pics online, also I’m Not 100% familiar with the staff here at swift creek golds but one of the front desk employees Sazo made every thing so simple and not a hassle what so ever! I definitely will be switching gyms no more nonsense! Golds gym swift creek is the place to be! Thank you Sazo
April 28 · Christian RamirezThere is something about that particular Gold's Gym. It's not just the crowd, but a large percentage of the members are serious about their workouts and willing to help or spot others. I travel 25 minutes to this gym because of that and also the variety of weight machines they offer. 👍
March 16 · Lance VanderborgPlace sucks, not to bad of a gym but good luck canceling you membership 😂 and after you do they will still charge you.... until you get a new card, so many other gyms put there, dont waste your time here.
