While it may not be a traditional gym with rows of weights and cardio machines, it is a place dedicated to youth fitness and skill development. This article aims to provide a clear and factual overview of Element Athletics to help local users learn more about this place. It will cover the gym's offerings, its location, and what makes it a choice worth considering, while also addressing some of the common feedback from real customers.
Element Athletics has received a mix of feedback from its customers, which provides a balanced view of the facility. One reviewer praised the Ninja class and its instructor, stating, "We absolutely love the instructor and love the class itself." This positive comment highlights the engaging nature of the classes and the quality of some of the coaching. However, the same review raised a serious concern about the lack of air conditioning, calling it "absolutely cruel" and "criminal" for kids to be in physical classes in 90+ degree heat with only one fan. Another review was critical of the class structure, noting a "lack of class consistency" and an unorganized system where "new students can join class at any time." This parent felt their child "has not progressed at all in 2 months" and that the experience was "not worth the money." This feedback suggests that while the instructors and class concepts can be a hit, there are significant issues with the facility's comfort and program organization that prospective members should be aware of. This overview aims to present both the positive and negative aspects, allowing for an informed decision.
This overview will delve into the specific details that define Element Athletics. We will explore its location and accessibility, the services it offers, and the features that are highlighted by customer experiences. By providing factual and helpful information, this content aims to help Illinois residents decide if Element Athletics is the right place for their child's athletic journey.
Element Athletics is located at 9135 N 2nd St, Roscoe, IL 61073, USA. This address places the gym in a well-trafficked and easily accessible part of Roscoe, making it a convenient destination for families in the area and surrounding communities. Its location on North 2nd Street is a major thoroughfare, ensuring that getting to and from the facility is straightforward. A significant aspect of the gym's accessibility is its design. Element Athletics features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. This commitment to inclusivity is a crucial benefit, ensuring that individuals with mobility challenges can comfortably access the facility. The ease of getting to the gym is a major factor for busy parents, making it simpler to fit classes into their schedules. However, a major concern raised by a customer review is the lack of proper climate control within the building. The review mentioned "90+ degree heat" with "ABSOLUTELY NO AIR CONDITIONING" and only "ONE fan," which could be a significant comfort issue, especially during the warmer months in Illinois. While the location itself is convenient and accessible, the internal environment is a factor to consider, as it may impact the quality of the experience, particularly for physical classes.
Element Athletics is a specialized gym that focuses on youth athletic development, particularly in the areas of tumbling and Ninja training. While the provided information is limited, public data suggests the gym offers a range of services designed to help children build strength, coordination, and confidence. Based on available information, here are the key services you can expect:
- Ninja Classes: As mentioned in a customer review, this is a popular offering at the gym. These classes are designed to be fun and challenging, helping kids navigate obstacle courses and develop agility, balance, and strength.
- Tumbling Classes: Tumbling is a core part of the gym's curriculum. These classes likely teach foundational gymnastic skills, from cartwheels and rolls to more advanced flips, which are essential for cheerleading and other sports.
- Specialized Sessions: The gym's approach of letting new students join at any time, while criticized by one reviewer for lack of consistency, could also be considered a service option for families who cannot commit to a traditional session-based program. It provides flexibility, although this comes at a cost to class progression for existing students.
- Open Gym and Birthday Parties: Many specialized gyms for kids also offer open gym sessions where children can play and practice on the equipment. Additionally, they often host birthday parties, providing a fun and active venue for celebrations.
The services are built around a philosophy of making fitness and skill development enjoyable for children. However, the feedback regarding a lack of a structured curriculum or consistent sessions is an important point for prospective members to consider, as it could impact a child's progress and the value of the class.
Element Athletics is distinguished by a few key features that are important for local users to know. These highlights, both positive and negative based on customer reviews, are central to the gym’s identity and can help inform a decision about whether to join. Here are some of the standout features of this Roscoe facility:
- Specialized Classes: The gym offers unique and engaging classes like Ninja training and tumbling, which can be a great option for parents looking for something different from traditional team sports. The review praising the Ninja instructor highlights the potential for a very positive experience.
- Expert and Likable Instructors: While the overall organization of classes was criticized, the instructors themselves were praised. A reviewer "absolutely love the instructor" for the Ninja class, and another review mentions a coach named Michael who helped a child fall in love with tumbling. This suggests that the individual coaching quality is high.
- Accessibility Features: The gym provides a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, which is a key feature that makes the facility more inclusive and welcoming to all families.
- Amenities: The facility offers a restroom, which is a fundamental amenity that ensures a basic level of comfort for all.
- Physical Environment: A significant highlight, but in a negative sense, is the lack of air conditioning. A reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction with the high heat and lack of fans, which they felt was dangerous for children during physical activity. This is a critical point for parents to consider, especially during Illinois's hot summers.
- Class Structure: The "join anytime" class model, while potentially flexible, was criticized for creating a lack of consistency and hindering the progression of students who have been in the class for a while. This is a key feature that may not work for every family.
These features, from the engaging class types to the noted issues with climate control and class organization, are all crucial for potential members to consider. They collectively paint a picture of a gym with great potential that may have some operational issues to be aware of.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We just started here for the Ninja class. We absolutely love the instructor and love the class itself. However, having ABSOLUTELY NO AIR CONDITIONING in 90+ degree heat is absolutely cruel. Having kids do physical classes with ONE fan on is criminal.
June 21 · Amber WilsonNo class consistency, new students can join class at any time instead of per session., So the girls who have been in the class have new girls joining at any time and they have to like start over again every other class with the new girls. Should be by month session, not letting kids join in the middle of a "session". No consistency. Unorganized classes, doing cartwheels over and over for 30 minutes while they are helping the new girls that dont know the cartwheel. I feel like my daughter has not progressed at all in 2 months. Not worth the money.
March 02 · Kelsey BrelsfordWe come here every time they host the Nerf event. Our kids enjoy it thoroughly. Makes me want to come for other things that they do. The equipment seems to all be kept in great shape. Really nice space and well maintained.
February 28 · James WrightThe coaches are nice...but they're on their phones during class which is inappropriate. kinda expensive and they play duck duck goose with the kids when theyre trying to kill time or gives them a chance to be on their phones...
January 13 · Mohamad MarrarThe greatest gym I have ever been to. I love the team work and community!
