What is worth choosing Crunch Fitness - Worcester? For many in the Massachusetts area, Crunch Fitness represents a great value proposition, offering a wide array of equipment and services at an accessible price point. The long-standing loyalty of members, such as a 30-year member who has witnessed the gym's evolution, speaks to its ability to provide a consistent and positive experience. The gym's emphasis on personal and mental well-being, as shared by the marathon runner who has been a member for decades, shows that it offers more than just a physical workout. However, it is important to consider the community atmosphere, which, as noted by some reviews, can be challenging during peak hours. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been a member of this gym for 30 years. I have been here before it was a Crunch, so I have seen different gyms and new workers as time has passed. Crunch Fitness with staff like Kevin and Katie, have made this Crunch Fitness my best experience.I started lifting weights in my early 20’s. At that time I had no idea of the positive influence of weight bearing exercises would have on me not only physically but mentally too. As I got stronger my athlete goals transformed. In my 50’s I was able to finish 5 marathons and one half marathon. Today I still consider myself to be a fit, and still call Crunch Fitness my home. Each day I am excited to come back!
October 11 · Lynne GarafaloBeen lifting for ~10 years and have been a member at 3 different Crunch locations - The Oakley location in Cincinnati, the East Worcester location off of route 122, and up until today, this one.I generally go early in the morning to avoid the crowd. Problem w/ doing that here is that the place gets pretty packed by 5:30am, and the morning regulars are easily some of the rudest people you will ever have the displeasure of being around. In the year or so I was there, I FREQUENTLY witnessed:-Groups of guys loudly making inappropriate comments about female gymgoers-(Groups of) people openly mocking other gymgoers-(Groups of) people deliberately damaging/misusing equipment-(Groups of) people camping out on piece(s) of equipment for an hour plus, w/ no regard or consideration for other gymgoers' time-People not re-racking/wiping said equipment down when they are finished-People singing/rapping/screaming/taking phone calls at a volume where I could hear them over the sound of noise-cancelling headphones-A seemingly deliberate lack of respect and consideration for others, particularly apparent amongst the same 10-20 or so people who seem to be there every time I goOn the morning I finally cancelled, I was hoping to start my workout w/ barbell squats - but since all 3 racks were taken and I was pressed for time, I chose to do the other exercises I had planned for the day. After finishing all of them, all 3 squat racks were still being used, so I decided to stand behind said squat racks and wait for one of them to free up. I could not have been standing there for more than 5 minutes. This one older woman (who is there constantly) went out of her way to make several snarky comments towards here buddies about the fact that I was doing this, within earshot of me. This was not even the first time she'd done this. But hey, it'll be the last! Because I've had it with the abrasive, immature, extraordinarily disrespectful people who frequent this particular gym.Unfortunately, this is the echelon of society you're going to have to deal with if you decide to join the cheapest gym in town (with freeweights). The next cheapest option is about double the price. But I'd pay triple for a more crowded facility with less equipment, just to get away from this particular crowd.2 stars instead of 1 because the guy @ front desk was very polite and helpful when I ultimately decided to cancel.
April 30 · Sam KeithI am very disappointed about the personal trainer program. They kept on charging my account for 4 months for after I stop the session for me and my wife for personal training. When we contacted the location on Millbrook st we're we enrolled they would tell me that the managers are in a meeting someone would call us just to delay things more. Until I caled today August 8, 2025 someone with zero customer service skills answer the phone , was very rude refusing to let me talk to a manager, would not disclose her name and hang up the phone on me. Seriously after deliberately charging my account without my approval for PT session I did not sign up for and telling that, they will not refund my money back. I worked for every penny, not scamming folks for profit. YOU WILL REFUND MY MONEY BACK TO MY ACCOUNT. DON'T SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING @CRUNCH AND LEAVE YOUR CARD ON FILE WITH THEM. IF YOU DID please verify you account to see how much money has been withdrawn form it by them without your consent.
August 08 · Claude ZephyrAbsolutely unacceptable customer service — avoid this gym at all costs.I’ve been trying for weeks to cancel my membership by phone, with no success. After being ignored multiple times, I finally got someone on the phone — but only after submitting an online cancellation form that was intentionally difficult to find.I explained that I had recently been charged the annual membership fee, despite making several attempts to cancel beforehand. I also mentioned that I haven’t used the gym since February and would be traveling, so continuing the membership made no sense. I politely asked if a refund was possible.Instead of offering any help or speaking respectfully, the staff member immediately became aggressive and condescending. He talked to me in an unprofessional and disrespectful tone, told me he would hang up, and flat-out refused to let me speak to anyone else. When I asked for a manager, he refused. When I asked for his name, he said, “I will not provide you with my name,” accused me of being rude and “speaking over him” — then hung up on me.This was, without exaggeration, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The issue isn’t just that he wasn’t willing to refund the charge — it was the condescending, aggressive, and outright disrespectful way he handled the entire conversation. The lack of accountability, refusal to provide a name, and blatant disrespect for a paying customer is outrageous. I strongly urge anyone considering this gym to think twice. No one deserves to be treated this way.
May 12 · Ghada AL-HafezCustomer service is awesome and everyone is so friendly. It's great that they have a punching bag and they loan boxing gloves for free. Pat and Paul are fantastic!
