★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I go to CrossFit X-Factor for personal training 3 times a week, and both the gym and my trainer, Madison, are great!I’ve been losing weight over the past couple of years (about 160 pounds down so far!), so I have been to most of the locally-owned gyms in Northwest Portland at one point or another, trying to find a workout routine I actually liked. I originally went to X-Factor just to check it out, as I didn’t think I was the kind of person who would go to a CrossFit gym—but everyone was so friendly that I ended up sticking around.I get a better workout here than I have at other places while also enjoying what I’m doing. The mixture of weightlifting and conditioning means it’s difficult to get bored. I am also more of a beginner than most, so if I go here, so can you!Madison in particular is a great trainer who’s gotten creative scaling workout routines for someone just starting out. It’s clear what the functional fitness goals are for whatever exercise I’m doing and we celebrate progress along the way. It feels like we’re both putting in the work and that it’s a team effort!Although I do personal training, my sessions have overlapped with open gym, as well as bumped up against classes. Everyone is very supportive! There’s also a more diverse crowd at this gym than others I’ve been to in the area; they host Lift Sober over the weekends and have children’s classes. I am trans, and it’s the only gym where someone hasn’t messed up my name or sent me into gendered spaces.Would recommend it to folks, even if you don’t think CrossFit is for you!
June 03 · kf FellowsAttended the gym for my Crossfit Level 2 Trainer Course. The staff are amazing, easy access off the highway, great places close by to go eat aftwards, and an awesome space to workout.
January 27 · Jennifer WillsI dropped into this gym multiple times as I was traveling for work. I truly don’t have enough good things to say about this gym. It’s a very friendly, open and encouraging environment. I absolutely loved every aspect of the gym, from the programming, to the coaches and comradery.
July 16 · Whitely BurtonCrossFit X-factor has been a fantastic gym to be a part of for the past 2.5 months. I had never done crossfit before joining X-Factor so I took the 5 class fundamentals course. This was a really excellent 1 on 1 experience with a trainer who took me through all the basic movements and helped me lift and train in a safe and healthy way. After the fundamentals, I did about 3 classes a week in the mornings. These classes were coached by Eric. The classes averaged around 10 people or less, which was a great size for the gym. Everyone had plenty of room and there was more than enough equipment to go around. Eric is awesome and provides 1 on 1 coaching for everyone in the class. The other people in the class were incredibly nice and supportive. It was a great environment to be in and I enjoyed getting to know everyone.I would HIGHLY recommend this gym for beginners through experienced athletes!ps. there is free street parking around the gym and I never had any problems finding a spot.
