Creating Space Yoga Introduce
Welcome to Creating Space Yoga, a beloved yoga studio nestled right in the heart of Portland, Maine. For those of us living in Maine, where life can be a beautiful blend of busy days and a need for quiet reflection, finding a place to de-stress and reconnect is essential. Creating Space Yoga is more than just a place to practice poses; it is a community dedicated to fostering a sense of peace, strength, and well-being. We understand that yoga is a deeply personal journey, and our studio is designed to be a supportive and non-judgmental environment where every individual, regardless of their experience level, can feel comfortable and empowered to grow. Our philosophy is rooted in meeting you exactly where you are, encouraging you to listen to your body and honor your own unique path.
The studio's approach, as echoed in our customer reviews, is centered on inclusivity and mindful instruction. We offer a variety of classes and teaching styles, making sure there is something for everyone. A core part of our mission is to make yoga accessible and enjoyable for all. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner looking to deepen your practice or a complete beginner who has never stepped on a mat, our instructors are skilled at providing modifications and alternative poses. This ensures that you can safely and effectively build into each position at your own pace. One of our patrons perfectly captured this sentiment, noting that the teachers are "very good at offering ways to build onto and into each position to meet you where you are that day rather than expecting that everyone is ready to jump into crow pose or wheel." This kind of compassionate teaching is what truly defines the Creating Space Yoga experience.
We also understand that life in Maine often means a desire to connect with the natural world. Our unique outdoor class offering, which takes place during our short but glorious summers, allows you to sink your feet into the earth and breathe in the fresh air while overlooking the water. This extra perk, as one review pointed out, adds a truly special dimension to the practice, blending the tranquility of yoga with the beauty of our local landscape. The combination of a welcoming in-studio environment and the opportunity to practice outdoors makes Creating Space Yoga a truly unique and cherished part of the Portland wellness community. We invite you to explore our offerings and discover how creating space on your mat can lead to creating space in your life.

December 03 · Karen BrownMy introduction to this studio was in the middle of the pandemic so I was attending virtual classes. I liked the variety of styles of the different instructors. It's great for all levels of experience and the teachers are very good at offering ways to build onto and into each position to meet you where you are that day rather than expecting that everyone is ready to jump into crow pose or wheel.Once I was able to attend in person in the heated studio, I was hooked! In the summer, it's a lower heat but still feels great. Classes aren't overly crowded which I really appreciate (I like having some personal space). Having an outdoor class overlooking the water is an extra perk for our short but glorious Maine summer. 💛
July 16 · catherine knottI love this yoga studio! The classes are great! There are relaxing and slow paced classes, nice flow classes and then extreme workout yoga so everyone can find their place here. The environment is very peaceful, calm and relaxing! There are nice, clean bathrooms with showers which is a nice perk. Some of the classes are heated which is so amazing, especially in the winter. Helps you get a good sweat on and feel cozy but its not overwhelmingly hot. The teachers are super nice and supportive. I recommend this yoga studio to everyone 100%.
