CorePower Yoga - Lakeview Introduce
In a city as bustling and diverse as Chicago, Illinois, finding a fitness center that aligns with both your physical goals and personal values can be a key part of your wellness journey. CorePower Yoga, with its location in the Lakeview neighborhood, offers a unique blend of a traditional yoga studio and a dynamic fitness center. This establishment is known for its heated, vinyasa-style classes that are designed to build strength, increase flexibility, and foster a strong mind-body connection. CorePower Yoga is a popular choice for those who want more than just a passive yoga session; they seek an intense and challenging workout that leaves them feeling both energized and centered. For Chicago residents, especially in the Lakeview and surrounding areas, this studio provides a consistent and high-quality fitness experience. The brand is well-established and known for its standardized class formats, ensuring that you can expect a similar level of instruction and a similar type of workout no matter which of their locations you visit. Beyond the physical aspect, CorePower Yoga cultivates a community-focused atmosphere that is welcoming and inclusive. Identifying as LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space, the studio makes a clear statement about its commitment to diversity and acceptance. This intentional approach helps to create a supportive environment where every member can feel comfortable and empowered to pursue their health goals. The studio's combination of a powerful physical workout and a supportive community is what draws many people to its doors and helps them maintain a consistent practice. It's a place where you can sweat, challenge yourself, and find a sense of belonging all at the same time. This is particularly appealing in a large city, where finding a place that feels personal and connected can be a significant benefit to one's overall well-being. The variety of class types, from their signature CorePower Yoga 2 (C2) to Yoga Sculpt, provides a different experience for every mood and goal, ensuring you can keep your routine fresh and exciting.
It is important to note that while CorePower Yoga generally has a strong reputation for its facilities and instructors, as with any business, individual experiences can vary. Some public reviews mention challenges related to logistical matters. For example, a common frustration for Chicagoans is parking, and one review highlighted this, describing a "poor instructions on parking situation" and difficulty getting into the studio. While the studio's website notes limited parking spots in the lot during specific hours and suggests speaking with the parking attendant, this can still be a source of frustration. The Lakeview area is known for being difficult to navigate with a car, and many residents rely on street parking, which can be metered or require a permit. The gym's website confirms that there is metered and free street parking available on surrounding residential streets, but this can require extra time and effort. Additionally, some reviews have raised concerns about customer service issues, particularly regarding membership and billing. One long-term client detailed a frustrating experience with a trial membership auto-renewing into a full-priced subscription without their explicit consent, and a subsequent difficult cancellation process that required a 30-day notice. This kind of feedback is important for potential members to be aware of, so they can carefully review the terms and conditions of any membership they choose to sign up for. Despite these logistical and administrative points, a vast number of reviews speak highly of the facilities and the instructors, praising them for their friendly and helpful attitudes, and for leading great classes. It is clear that while some aspects of the business may require careful consideration, the in-studio experience itself is generally well-regarded. The brand is known for offering special discounts for active military personnel, which is a valuable and appreciated feature for a key part of the community. The commitment to providing both onsite and online classes also adds a layer of convenience and flexibility that is a major draw in today's world.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Booked a class with gympass. Poor instructions on parking situation. It took a while for me to find parking was 3 minutes late to get into the studio, only to find the studio locked and zero instructions on how to get inside. And the most frustrating part is I tried calling the studio it went straight to their corporate office and I was put on waiting. Super frustrating, bad experience.
February 24 · Sivamalini ValayapathyI've been a long term CorePower Yoga client. I've always enjoyed the facilities, instructors and the C2 yoga classes.I normally only get pack of 5 - 10 classes however a little over a month ago, I signed up for a 1 month trial at $99. I was told there will not be an autorenewal and I will be asked for approval if I choose to keep a monthly subscription after the month trial.Unfortunately, CorePower did not ask for any approval and is now charging me $189/monthly for a subscription that I did not accept nor signed up for. I didn't notice this until I was reconciling my credit card charges. Not only did they not cancel my subscription immediately but are now requiring a 30 day notice prior to cancelling and making me responsible for the additional 30 day notice period. It's rare for me to write negative reviews however writing this so others don't fall for this type of business practice. After almost 7 years of being a loyal customer, I unfortunately, I will no longer support CorePower Yoga as a customer.
September 12 · Alfredo ChangLiv was an AMAZING instructor. She was both motivating & inspiring. I have not taken a class with such a WONDERFUL instructor in such a long time, 10/10 recommend!!!
February 22 · siobhan davisOverall good place but avoid the instructor named Grace at all cost.
August 10 · MUMU XOXOPROSThey have lots of class options. Good teachers. And a lovely lobby area.CONSThe room is cramped. You can’t reach your arms to do a full body stretch in the back row bc you hit the wall. The mats smell like body odor and food. Cleaning them doesn’t help much. The sequences are not creative. After 6 rounds of the same thing I’m done. After 2 visits, I won’t go again.AND they replied but ignored their mats being foul, the room being small, and the class sequence being a yawn. The class was only half full, and I still could not lift my arms over my head because the room is just small They put three rows of mats in there with the last row right against the wall. I had already reported the mats to them but they never followed up.
