This article will provide an overview of the Brighton location, including its services, accessibility, and important factors to consider based on available public information and feedback from the community. It's important for local users to have a clear and factual understanding of what to expect when they consider joining this studio.
Pilates has gained popularity for its low-impact nature and its ability to deliver significant results in core strength and posture. Club Pilates, as a brand, has established itself as a leader in this field, and the Brighton studio aims to bring this specialized fitness program to the Michigan community. The studio offers a variety of classes that cater to different skill levels, from beginners just learning the ropes to advanced practitioners. The focus is on controlled, precise movements that build strength and endurance without the high-impact stress on joints that can be associated with other types of exercise. For many Michiganders looking for a mindful and effective way to improve their physical health, a Pilates practice can be a great fit. It's a method that works for a wide range of ages and fitness backgrounds, making it an inclusive option for many in the community. The structure of the classes, often with a set curriculum and consistent instructors, can provide the accountability needed to stay on track with fitness goals.
Club Pilates in Brighton is conveniently located at 8023 W Grand River Ave STE 200, Brighton, MI 48114, USA. Its location is easily accessible for residents of Brighton and the surrounding areas. The studio is situated within a larger commercial complex, which generally provides easy-to-find directions and ample parking for customers. One important thing to note about the location is the presence of exterior lighting. Community feedback has highlighted that some of the outdoor lights have been non-functional for an extended period, which could be a concern for members attending evening classes. The studio has made efforts to ensure internal accessibility, with a wheelchair accessible entrance, a wheelchair accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair accessible restroom. These features demonstrate a commitment to accommodating individuals with mobility challenges. The availability of a restroom for customer use is also a standard and appreciated amenity. Prospective members should be aware of the outdoor conditions and consider this when planning to attend classes, especially after dark.
When it comes to services, Club Pilates focuses primarily on group and private Pilates classes on specialized equipment. A key part of their business model is that appointments are recommended and a membership is required to access their classes. This structure is typical for many specialized fitness studios and provides a consistent schedule and commitment for members. The services offered include:
- Reformer Pilates Classes: The main offering of the studio, these classes use the reformer, a piece of equipment that provides resistance for a challenging and effective workout.
 - Variety of Class Types: The studio provides a range of class levels and types, from foundational classes for new members to advanced classes that challenge seasoned practitioners.
 - Group Sessions: The majority of the classes are in a group setting, allowing members to work out alongside others with the guidance of a certified instructor.
 - Introductory Classes: For new members, the studio typically offers a trial class to help them understand the basics of Pilates and the equipment before committing to a membership.

A consistent theme in customer feedback is the quality of the instructors. Several reviews praise individual instructors for being knowledgeable, helpful, and creating a non-intimidating environment. This is a crucial element of the service, as a good instructor can make a significant difference in a member's experience and progress. The instructors are noted for being eager to help members correct their form and learn new movements, which is particularly valuable for those who are new to Pilates or are working on specific goals.
In addition to the services, there are several features and highlights that are important for potential members to consider. The experience at any fitness studio is defined not just by the classes themselves but also by the environment and management. Here are some of the key features and community highlights:
- Great Instructors: As noted in customer reviews, the quality of the instructors is a major positive. The staff is often described as knowledgeable and supportive, helping members feel comfortable and confident in their practice.
 - Structured Classes: The consistent class structure provides a clear path for progression and makes it easier for members to track their improvements over time.
 - Equipment: The studio is outfitted with Pilates reformers and other equipment necessary for the classes. However, some customer feedback has raised concerns about the condition of the equipment, with reports of loose and missing pieces. This is a crucial point for members who prioritize safety and full functionality during their workout.
 - Cleanliness: A significant concern raised by some customers is the cleanliness of the studio. Reviews have mentioned issues with hair, dirt, and grime on reformers and floors, which can impact the overall experience. This is a key factor for potential members to consider when evaluating the value of the membership.
 - Customer Service: Some community feedback points to a lack of responsiveness from management regarding member concerns, which is an important consideration for anyone seeking a high level of customer service.

These highlights, both positive and negative, are crucial for prospective members to be aware of. They provide a more complete picture of the experience at the Brighton studio, allowing individuals to make an informed decision based on their priorities.

The variety of classes and the focus on this specialized form of exercise can be exactly what many people need to reach their fitness goals. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dirty studio, broken equipment, unresponsive management.Debated sharing this review, but after all verbal and written concerns have been ignored, the community should be aware of the experience at Club Pilates Brighton, owned by Nick and Michelle. I've been a customer of Nick's since 2019 (originally in Canton before relocating to Brighton), and it's very disappointing to see how swiftly the Brighton location, which only opened in 2024, has declined. Based on recent reviews for their Canton location, this is not an isolated issue for the locations they own.The main issue with Brighton Club Pilates is the lack of cleanliness. There is hair, dirt, and grime on the reformers, mats, floor, etc. It's difficult to focus during class when you need to pick other people's hair off yourself or your water bottle, or notice dandruff, skin flakes, or shoe prints right where you need to put your head or hands for an exercise. Despite putting up the mats and boxes on the reformers at the end of the day, it's evident that the floors are not swept, as the same hairballs and dirt remain day after day. At a recent class, the member next to me said there was a tick on her mat, which, regardless of how it got there, is alarming. I took close to 180 classes at this location and repeatedly experienced the same dirty conditions. Photos from several different days are attached to this review. The second major issue is poor equipment condition. Many of the reformers, chairs, and spring walls have loose and missing pieces that will make your exercises uneven or unsafe in some situations. These issues have been brought up to the owners and ignored. Members have been left to struggle with uneven straps or a wobbly chair depending on which station they end up at. It is troubling that the safety of the members and full functionality of the equipment is not prioritized.Basic requests have also been ignored. For example, several members and teachers have requested shades for the front window so you can see during class when the sun is pouring in. This request has been ignored. It's unfortunate in class when the person who ends up in the front is being asked if they are ok because they can't see to do the exercises and are voicing that they are overheated from the direct sunlight at their station.Outdoor safety issues include outdoor lights that have been out for months - requests to fix this have also been ignored. While walking in the dark parking lot after an evening class, you'll find an abandoned car, individuals approaching members, and people pulling on car handles during class. This would be helped at least a little if there was proper lighting outside.Management's lack of response has been especially frustrating. Michelle and Nick are not local to the area/studio and appear to manage remotely. After months of ignored verbal concerns, I expressed an interest in canceling my membership. I was asked by the front desk (not management) to share my reason for cancelling. I promptly responded in writing with these concerns to brighton@clubpilates.com months ago and received zero response. After a couple of weeks of no response, I chose to confirm the cancellation of my membership, an email that has also gone unanswered. After over five years as a loyal customer, their silence speaks volumes. It's also worth noting that historically, when negative reviews accumulated at the Canton location, incentives were offered in exchange for 5-star Google reviews. This is against Google review policies. There is also a 5-star review of the Canton location posted by someone with the same name as the owner/immediate family member of the owner, which violates Google's conflict of interest policy. The current unlimited monthly rate for the Brighton location is $239, which is unjustifiable given the consistently dirty and poorly maintained environment. Luckily, I had started the first day they opened and had a lower rate. If I were to join now, I would never pay their current rate for the experience they offer.
May 18 · Andrea RuszalaI've been a member since the day Brighton Club Pilates opened. All the instructor's are great although I really enjoy Michelle K's classes. She is always eager to help you correct your position and to learn new movements. I have never felt intimidated because I wasn't doing something quite right. As others have said, it can be a challenge to get into classes but once you understand the signup process, it gets easier. I appreciate the cleanliness of the studio.
August 12 · Gail AndersonVery happy at Brighton CP so far! I love that there are so many class times, even Sunday! The staff is very warm and welcoming as are the other members. I’m so happy that I joined!
May 16 · Diane DownesI signed up at the beginning of the month and I’ve loved it so far and am really excited to continue! All of the instructors are very helpful, clear, and willing to go the extra mile. I love planning all my classes with the app. I actually like that you get charged if you cancel a class later than 12 hours in advanced- makes sense because there’s 12 machines for each class, helps hold me accountable, and makes it so people can book a class easily if others can’t make it!
December 20 · Kenzie JonesI joined in May 2024 with the limited membership. It wasn’t always easy to register for the classes that I wanted, especially with short notice, but also found that I wanted to attend at least 3 times a week, so I upgraded to the unlimited which allows me to schedule up to as far as a month out. I’ve worked with at least 6 different instructors and thought all were great but I have found Michelle K’s style and pace the easiest for me to follow and understand. Despite having up to 12 students in class, she is particularly good about demonstrating moves as she teaches them, as well as helping individuals to adjust their moves to derive maximum benefit and prevent injury. I’ve enjoyed Michelle so much that I have also started doing 1 or 2 private sessions a month so that I can work with her one-on-one to improve my posture and moves. I am loving my classes and am so happy that I took the plunge. I can already feel and see the difference. Special thanks to Michelle K for her efforts on my behalf!
