For fitness enthusiasts in the New York region, particularly in the Bronx, BrutalBoxx is a compelling choice for several important reasons. The gym's most significant strength lies in its specialization. While some negative reviews have mentioned issues with staff and membership, it's clear from other testimonials that the gym offers a high-quality, results-driven workout experience for a dedicated audience. For those who are passionate about CrossFit and weightlifting, the focused environment is a major draw. Unlike a gym with a broad range of offerings, BrutalBoxx provides a curated experience designed to challenge and improve performance in these specific areas.
The gym's model of "appointment required" is another key benefit. This ensures that you will not arrive to a crowded gym and struggle to find a machine. Instead, you can have a focused session with a trainer or in a class, knowing that your time is respected and that the space is dedicated to your workout. This level of structure is ideal for those who need a clear plan and accountability to stay on track.
Moreover, the positive feedback about the training itself, such as reviews praising a first-time class experience and the technical expertise of instructors, suggests that the core product is strong. The gym’s ability to cater to different skill levels, from beginners in need of foundational guidance to advanced athletes seeking to refine their skills, makes it a versatile training hub. Despite some reported issues, the core appeal of BrutalBoxx remains its commitment to intense, effective training and a community of people who are serious about their fitness. For anyone seeking a gym that will push them to their limits and deliver tangible results, this specialized facility in the Bronx is a solid option.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Haven't even visited, just commenting to say that the location is not IN the Shallom Company as stated on Google Maps (screenshot shown), it is IN the entrance by Davita Kidney care (on the right)I'll update this reviews stars once I've returned and tried their services which I'm sure are great.
April 27 · Robert RodriguezIt does NOT get more ghetto than this place. No AC or air ventilation at all. Bathrooms stink. Right after the work outs, you can get high and drunk with the trainers right in front. But I'm sure they charge for that the same way they keep charging you even after you cancel membership. Horrible!!!
June 13 · Anthony PolancoLove this gym! Owner and community are really supportive - there’s an emphasis on form and safety and rigor that’s hard to find in gyms overall. But this gym’s got that balance down, and I’m so grateful!
March 03 · Elaine VilorioAfter initially signing up for a 3 month promotion, I decided to extend my membership because they upgraded trainers to Tee who is amazing. After negotiating with the owner a monthly price, my bank was charged an additional $20 per month after the first agreed upon fee. I did not raise any objections because no contract was signed and I love the family atmosphere of the members. After 1 1/2 yrs. I gave 30 day’s notice of my cancellation via email (as per cancelation policy) which was ignored by the owner. After cancellation, I was still charged full price until I had to contact my bank to stop payment moving forward.
January 20 · Christopher CampbellI enjoyed the classes and the gym, despite the occasional overcrowding. However, during my final month of my 6 month contract, I had to undergo emergency surgery. After this surgery, I was told that I would have to refrain from heavy physical exercise for an indefinite period pending rehabilitation. When I signed this contract, I was under the impression that the auto-renewal was optional, due to the wording in the fine print. After receiving my post operative news, I contacted Brutal Boxx about my situation. The customer service representative told me that per the contract, I missed the 30 day window to cancel, and I was auto-renewed for the new 6 months. When I tried to dispute this and provide my doctor’s note to customer service, they charged me for the first month, cancelled my membership, and sent the remaining balance of my new automatically renewed contract to collections. If you decide to join this gym, please read the fine print in the contract well and don’t expect much in terms of good customer service.
