★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was my first time taking a boxing class, so I didn't really know what to expect. The class is intimate, with max ~20 people. Chani was the instructor for my class and she had a FIRE playlist! The class was a full body workout from arms, to core, to burpees - WHEW! I liked that the class was judgement free + we’re free to use lighter weights or modify any movements to our comfortability to keep going. Chani did her best with instructing both boxing and weights stations simultaneously, while also keeping the energy high!FYI, there are no showers, but there are lockers with a key attached to them to keep your belongings safe. They also have wraps and gloves for purchase/rental, so all you have to do is show up with a water bottle + workout clothes to have a great time!
March 30 · Veronica LeongThis place is really wonderful and has a good variety of different classes! Earleen’s restorative yoga is incredible and is such a great way to end the week. I used muscles that I never even knew existed and got tone pretty fast! She is so talented and you definitely feel sore after. Chani was amazing in her boxing and HIIT class! Sarah is also as equally amazing. The only thing that I wished is that they would update their class with the correct instructor prior to the class day. One of the instructors makes various classes that should be focused on muscle building, such as Pilates, into a race to get as many reps in as possible without taking a pulse of the room. The other girls also look frustrated in multiple classes I was in with her. Similarly, I never feel sore after her classes because she goes so fast that it turns into a cardio class more than anything else. I accidentally went to her boxing class and Pilates class (since the correct instructor was not updated) and she would speed through so it felt like you were doing cardio rather than truly feeling the movements or properly weight lifting to build muscle. She also always forgets to do the other side and the other girls in the class have to remind her. She’d be great if she just slowed down and had the class really feel the movements. Her speed is also dangerous for those who are not experienced because it is easy to pull a muscle or lift incorrectly. I try to avoid her classes but because they don’t update the name, I keep accidentally attending. Overall, really recommend!!
July 11 · Ancy SkariaAmazing experience at Boxe Studios! If you are looking for a wonderful and inspiring experience, then you have come to the right place. Workout was intense but it was necessary. Workout was engaging and encouraging at the same time. I was focused the entire time and enjoyed the session. I would definitely come back again.
March 29 · Paulina ArmstrongI was looking forward to joining my friend for restorative pilates, so much so that I drove from VAN CORTLANDT PARK in the bronx for the class. We found out that the class had been changed and had a different instructor. This was definitely not what I had in mind when I thought about Pilates, especially after taking yoga classes snd my dr recommending pilates. The Instructor was moving at warp speed spending what seems like barely a few seconds? Perhaps it was a minute on each exercise. Everything was moving so fast. People's expressions appeared to show some frustration when the instructor was snarky. When the class was over, it was almost like she was trying to rush us out because she had to wipe everything down. Again.Very snarky tone.Since friday I have had pain in the muscle of my upper thigh that i've had to ice and heat on and off to reduce the pain.Someone mentioned the quick jerky movements could have caused someone to pull a muscle. And that's what it feels like happened to me.I want to go back with my friend but not to participate in a cardio class when it should be pilates.
July 14 · Constance BarnesAmazing women’s-only workout classes! Friendly and supportive staff in a clean gym setting. I took a strength training class with Chani that was incredible- I can’t wait to try each of the wide variety of classes offered!
