What is Worth Choosing
For the Michigan resident navigating the crowded fitness landscape, barre3 Royal Oak is the definitive choice for those who want more than just a place to sweat—they want a place to belong.
The first reason to choose barre3 is the profound efficacy and sustainability of the workout itself. It is a science-backed method that delivers genuine physical results—building "discipline, strength, endurance," and helping clients "gain muscle" and a new "respect for your self"—without the high-impact strain on joints that can lead to burnout or injury. The seamless inclusion of mindfulness means that every class is a dedicated time to check in with your body and mind, making it a form of moving meditation.
The second, and perhaps most compelling, reason is the unparalleled studio culture. As members frequently attest, the community is an integral part of the experience. The warm, supportive, and empowering environment, championed by the talented instructors and front desk staff, is a powerful antidote to the intimidating or impersonal nature of many large gyms. You are encouraged to push your edge, yet always with modifications and a guiding hand. This studio, which also shares a strong connection with the nearby Birmingham location, is noted as a "MUST" join, a place where you gain muscle, but you also gain genuine "friends" and a newfound trust in your own body. If you are looking for a fitness community that truly invests in your well-being, mind, soul, and body, barre3 Royal Oak is the studio for you.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My heart aches writing this review knowing I am leaving this studio (moving away). Kate is an insanely talented instructor. She has made me a person with discipline, strength, endurance, patience, and has made me love and trust my body in so many ways. If you’re ever considering taking a class I highly recommend taking a strength class with her even her signature class will make you question “no way this is just the warm up”😅. Stephanie and Lynnette’s classes are also so empowering and Jaime’s signature IS SOOOO GOODDDDD. So thankful for the opportunity to join this studio and see my progress. If you’re thinking about joining barre3 it is a MUST. The ladies at reception are so welcoming and shower you with compliments and motivation walking in and out of class. It’s a studio unlike others it makes you feel good makes you wanna keep going and even take multiple classes a day. Trust me when I say this is the studio for you the people who are there love doing what they do they make you feel the way you should feel the best of set of people you’ll ever meet at a fitness center really I should say community . (Trust me I have multiple memberships). You gain muscle, friends, and a new found respect for your self. I hope you take my recommendation and a book a class with Kate and experience the pleasure I’ve had. Thank you Barre3 RO/BH for allowing me to participate in this beautiful practice for my mind, soul, and body.
August 02 · Aya AlemadI have been going here for over a year now and absolutely love it. The Royal Oak and Birmingham locations are great. The instructors motivate you to give it your all. I like the incorporation of mindfulness into the routines now that it has become barre3. It adds a little more to the class the focus on your body and mind.
August 11 · Claire RymillBarre code rating: 5/5Barre 3 rating: 2/5Extremely disappointed with the transition from barre code to barre 3. I know I am not the only one who feels this way as well. I don’t understand why member input wasn’t sought before completely changingthe classes, removing all the best props, “renovating” which meant cramming more people into the studio all while increasing the price by $20 a month. Oh and the classes went from 50 minutes to 45 minutes. The barre code classes were the best and far superior to barre3. I specifically missed barre code strength. I’ve taken so many various classes over the years and nothing ever compared to how great that class was. To put it bluntly, B3 classes are just suck. This has absolutely nothing to do with the trainers and everything to do with the way the B3 classes are structured. I don’t understand why B3 couldn’t leave the barre code as is when they bought them out. Why did you have to ruin a good thing? With that being said, all the trainers at this studio are incredible and the facility is clean.I really tried to embrace the change and tried all the B3 classes several times but I’m just so disappointed. I won’t be back unless they bring back the barre code classes (specifically strength). I miss you barre code!!
October 29 · Katie SI started at the beginning of the month and am already hooked. I started with their 2 week unlimited package and wanted to get the most out of it so I went 3-4x each of those weeks and decided to continue with the unlimited package. It has created such a great habit now that it’s not even a question of if but when I can fit a class in. The instructors are beyond motivating and high energy too keep you going. I was nervous going alone for the first time but they were so kind in showing me around. Unless you are already working out I do not suggest starting your first class with a strength class. I did that and couldn’t get in and out of my car gracefully for 3 days! These ladies push you but at your own pace. There is lots of variations of each move and it’s never an embarrassing feeling not following the more intense movement. An easy example is planks and variations being on your knees or at the bar! It has definitely kept me accountable especially the cancellation policy! Not having to think about your next move and what number you are on of that move is a great feeling!!
July 26 · S MAbsolutely love The Barre Code! I mainly take classes at the Royal Oak studio, but you can count on the same quality class, amazing energy from instructors, and a good workout no matter which studio you go to! I love the variety of class styles so you can really tailor your membership to what you need at whatever stage in life you’re at. I also love that no two instructors are teaching the exact same class so you know you’re always getting a different workout and pushing your body in new ways each class. So grateful for this community!
